Huge improvement for the G series ///M
Hey guys! I saw this on a website and thought this company called Avante Design proposed a great option for a widebody/front bumper revision for the new G82 M4. I even think the kit with the standard grill makes the grill more bearable in my opinion. It adds even more aggression and drama that suits that controversial grill. Let me know what you guys think!

Not sure if my heart will throb looking at the super long wheelbase and extreme width.
Looks more and more like a BatMobile than an M car. But then, looks are very subjective. Who am I to say what an M car should look like. In general, though, many people agree that the E46 M3 is the sexiest M ever.

Interesting replies on how it changes the look. I do see the bit of M8 look at the front where they shrink the grill, but I think with some adjustment they could make it look more unique. I do prefer the f82 m4 looks by a mile, but that's not to say that the G series can't be made to look good. I think examples like this are going in the right direction, although it's hard to go more in the wrong direction haha.

IMO, the G80 looks good in person... not F80 good, but good. I don't think these kits help it. The one with the smaller grill just still looks odd and the grill 'sticks' out.

I hear you. Only reason I posted here was because I much rather prefer the F8x m4s, and figured that the G forums already prefer them to the F8x. Thought these pics provided an upgrade for the front section of the G series and wanted to hear the inputs of the members on the F8x section since they probably don't prefer the G series. Anyways, I won't be posting anymore G series related stuff, so no worries haha |

I get that not everyone prefers the wide-body look, but in my opinion this rendered kit isn't even close to a rocket bunny. There's no exposed rivets or weird visible lines (which I don't mind anyway, I like certain rocket bunny kits haha). I think M cars have always had a nice timeless look to them, but I just generally like to add tasteful width/aero modifications to pretty much any car (grew up loving Japanese car culture, so I love JDM added aspects to any build. I'm not saying this wide-body is JDM aesthetic though haha).

Looks Lexus-ish. Pass on the G and the kit.

This is the best news I've seen in a long time.
Finally, I can overpay for a slow 5000 lb hideous vehicle just so I can pay even more to make it look less hideous but still hideous. |

It's an improvement, BUT... what's the cost? I'm seeing a whole new front end + hood + paint in the photo. At some point, you got to ask yourself, how much are you willing to pay to die on that hill?
I pay 90K for a car and another 5-8k to do this + paint? Makes no sense to me. These are large items for little gain. If I got G8x, I'd much rather spend on a tune, wheels, suspension. |

No thanks, I’m not going to buy something and then spend more money to fix the way it looks.

It doesn’t need wider fenders, because it already has them. It doesn’t need body kits to make it look aggressive because it already is from factory. Trust me, I had the 91 NSX with several different body kits, fully built motor, always chasing a dragon trying to make the car something it isn’t. There comes a time to mature in the tuner scene. The F82 was that car for me. Everything in spades without bullshit parts that never fit and constantly asking a bunch of people on a car forum what is best for a car that has already been engineered by people far brighter. But I get it. Just saying, I’d feel like an idiot driving what’s pictured now in my current state. |
