From the sounds of it we are in for another great platform. It may not be as user friendly/simple as BM3 with their slide bars; but the depth of adjustability will be far greater. Now we just need people much smarter than me to start playing around with the tables creating custom tunes. |

Anthony and I will be offering our services for custom tuning. We may eventually recommend other QUALIFIED tuners to do the same. But we will have a strict vetting process to make sure they know what they are doing. We have been pretty alarmed at the quality of the OTS and custom calibrations we have seen floating around this market. We will be posting up a technical piece explaining exactly how our calibrations are fundamentally different than others.

If you want low torque, why not just stay with the OEM tuning? Compare the OEM chart with the 'flat torque' tune. Looks like they ever slightly tuned up maps in the 0-5000rpm then after 5000rpm the boost was increased. |

Dang....this actually might make me switch from BM3. I'm not in quest for big power and the powerband on the flat torque curve is mighty delicious looking.
BM3 is awesome (still my favorite mod) but sometimes I feel like it has way too many sliders and options to mess with, I'm often left wondering if I have the correct settings...like sometimes I would mess with the sliders and nothing happens. I'm a more set it and forget it kinda guy. It also seems like BM3 is really sensitive to octane, like the car might feel faster or slower depending on what gas station I use. Maybe it's all in my head. *ducks and hides* if OFT gets the burbles to sound like OEM CS, they might have a convert.... Only negative I see as of now is the need to buy the GTS TCU tune separately while BM3 includes it. That could add another $200 to the price. |

We're waiting! Quote:
+++++==+++++==++++++==++++++ It has been a BUSY week! Thanks for everyones patience while waiting for updates. We know you'd all much rather have us out developing and reverse engineering to add support and features , rather than sit at a desk and monitor these forums all day! Here are some current statistics:
Yesterday we pickup up ANOTHER development car -- an M4. This is our 4th dev' vehicle acquisition. From our point of view - it is very important to be extremely thorough with testing our OTS tune files across an array of chassis, in-house. We like to do our due diligence in ensuring that our OTS tune files are suitable for all cars - even when considering varying degrees of maintenance (or lack-there-of) <- You know who you are! Here we are flashing the latest dev car: ---- I've been very busy building out our .xdf's, adding support for 'the never ending list" of calibration codes BMW uses - exposing 10's of 100's of additional tables. Adding each new calibration code consumes about 35 hours because of the sheer number of tables that we have already exposed. Over the next few weeks, we will be implementing our patches into the various .xdf's so that our end users can EASILY apply tune changes suitable to taste. See the image below to understand how the patches work. The patches will allow you as an end-user to add or remove features quickly and easily, with no need for understanding exactly how to tune - or what the the required table changes need to be. The patches may include:
---- The most of my (and Shiv's) time has been spend on the dyno these last three weeks. Literally, we've lived on the dyno and road for our ongoing/extensive testing. We are sure to use MANY dyno's or testing and comparison to get the best gauge of performance from our tune files; and because particular dyno's are more useful for certain types of engine loading for proper reverse-engineering. ---- For those who have never worked with us first-hand: Something to know is that we do our best to be available at all times. You might email us at 3AM PST, and theres is a good probablity you'd get a reply back quickly. Our official operating hours are from 9AM to 6PM; but anyone who runs a business knows that work never stops. If we're awake, we're working. Our typical office hours (in-front of a computer -- not on the dyno or developing hardware) is between 11PM and 2AM M-F. Stick around! I will be posting some more detailed updates regarding tuning do's/don'ts over the next day or so -- Gotta get back to work! -- Development never ends. ~Anthony Last edited by OpenFlash; 08-25-2018 at 05:54 PM.. |
