We showed you the latest F82 M4 coupe prototype today, and now feast your eyes at the F80 M3, also in the most revealing form yet! This is also the first time we've seen it in what appears to be Singapore Grey Metallic.

The first thing that pops out (literally) at us are the fenders. Check out the nearly widebody look of the rear fenders. While the M4 is a svelte and sexy sports coupe, the new M3 looks like its bruiser brother with his bulldog stance.

As you can see, the F80 M3 shares virtually the same bodywork as the M4, save for the more prominently flared fenders and a different trunk design (no CSL style curve). The two share the same front front fascia and headlights, rear bumpers, sideskirts, hood bump, exhaust design, double-bubble carbon fiber roof and wheels (at least on this prototype). They will also share the same powerplant and drivetrain, of course.

Sticking with the sharing theme, the two will also split the spotlight when their production versions make their debuts in January at the Detroit NAIAS.

And if you missed it in the other thread, ordering will be available beginning in January-February and production begins in the March-May window. Expect deliveries by early Summer.

Follow our F80 M3 coverage at: http://www.bimmerpost.com/m3/f80m3/
And if you want to watch/hear the M3 and M4 in action, catch it in the compilation thread.

I always thought the E90s were much more manly/aggresive/bulldog looking than the E92s.

Same goes here, F80> F82!!

DAT ASS! LOVE IT!

Well that'll be something.

A damn 90k something that I'll love.

(And the E90M was 58k.)

Edit: Holy shit, grey. It's not black. And it looks sexy. Mineral Grey, S Graph, or SIngapore?

+1. And with a cf roof and historically lower base price, what's not to love?

So good to see M Gmbh going back to some fundamental design principles. About time M cars looked the part, like the 1M

look at the M6 and M6 gran coupe pricing and extrapolate..... it's a $3800 increase for the M6 GC in US dollars over the M6..

I imagine the M4 GC would be about 3K more than an M4...

That's why this is the M3, and the other is now the M4.

Wow, this looks incredible! Does it have the indentations on the roof like the M4? I can't really tell.

When will we be able to buy one? The M3 looks ridiculous. The body isn't wide enough for the wheel track making the flared fenders ostentatious.
