Sadly, it does sound like an X1 (or any other BMW with the n55) with non-resonated catless downpipes.

lol it does sound bad.

Sound is subjective as well as looks.

Some of you seem to get personally offended if someone has a different viewpoint than you.

My opinion is there is less and less that separates these new ///M cars from the regular 3 and 4 series "M-sport" models.

...but there's much more that separates them from the E9X M3's. Which is the most important thing.

I really think if someone were to put an aftermarket exhaust on, like akra or something, it would sound really good. I watched a video with a GTR with an aftermarket exhaust it is sounded really, really good. I loved the engine of my E92 M3 for it's sound, but even the stock exhaust on my Cayenne S sounds better than the M3 exhaust. The Porsche exhaust is louder, has more presence and depth with a nice little rasp on start up. Wish the BMW came with a better exhaust stock. I think some one said that Eisenmann does the exhaust for Porsche and AMG (don't quote me on it) and it shows.

I am in the camp that really likes the new M3/M4. I can't wait to take delivery of my M4 and just the numbers alone (lighter weight, substantially more torque, even more hp) will make this a great car. I'm sold. Plus, HUD, LED lights, carbon ceramic brakes, updated design with hints of M6 and 1M coupe, nicer interior (though I don't like the new idrive screen as much as the integrated unit in my old E92 M3). This is going to be a great car. I feel that this is a step in the right direction from the E92 M3 and doesn't do anything to make the E92 M3 less special.

Dakargelb F80 manual or azurite for me.

I wonder if JGM will be the green that is chosen for the F8x.

I am still curious what the YMB will look like. I like koenigsblau as well.

Not a competition per say but at least you can see and hear them at the same track sections from the same camera and track day.

Will have to see. I think the current M3 might hold its own on the track vs the F80/F82. Would love to compare track times after final testing.

I humbly disagree. Time will tell, but I'm not as pessimistic about the F80. That's based on many things we do know: Lighter, less drivetrain loss, better transmission, faster car all around. And from watching the videos, the F80 has about half the body roll of an E90. I think if anything the F80 looks like a calmer car but when driven hard it looks like a wild, squirrelly, fast fast car. However, hearing from drivers in other videos that it is actually more controlled and breaks traction into a drift smoothly and is easy to control, it encourages me that the squirellyness might be due to the driver.

Can I place an ED order in Jan-Feb then go pick the car up late spring early summer? And what's an estimate on when we will be able to build models online?

The F8x will DESTROY the E9x on track. Expect at least a 20 second difference in the 'ring lap time.

It will also be faster on the tighter tracks like the Hockenheim because of the lower weight and higher torque.

The Alfa 4C just matched the E9x time. Did you know that?

A 4-cylinder, Italian car with about 250 HP.

Let's wait till the official numbers come out.

I know, right?!

Shit, I wish it was that easy to drop 20 seconds off of a lap time.
