Set arrived today, will install later this afternoon. No instructions or reference on what the 2pin connector is used for on the lamps.

It's clear they will be lower quality. However, there is a minimum of quality for something to be considered functional. In my E46s, Eagle LED tails and Depo ones both failed after around a year. Besides failing, they looked different and worse from day 1. One could accept the LEDs pointing in different directions making it look non-OEM, but I cannot accept their failure. That, for me, is non functional. Hopefully these are better quality and last. |

If it’s similar to my current aftermarket lights, the 2 pin connector runs up the trunk into the/behind the bootlid carpeting and connects to the other harness for the smaller bootlid lights. |

Bingo. Found the additional harness in the packing material.

Interesting. The LEDS have a border around the lights. I couldn't tell they were there when the lights were on but when off they are more prominent. I assume that is the only way the LED lights will function. Looks good! I hope the install is not difficult!

Additionally, the 2 pin connector should fit into the small hole in the outer sheet metal behind the outer lights.
Shove the connector thru and I would suggest to use fabric tape around the wires to reduce the edges of the sheet metal from abrading the wires. The outer lights also have two connectors. This is due to earlier and later model years having different pins. Match your factory connector pin location and spacing to the appropriate connector on the lights. Also make sure you test the slack in the wires by slowly closing the trunk before you secure the wires to the existing harness or metal. If there is resistance, check to make sure it’s not hung up in the hinge springs or the wire is too taught. Sorry if you already knew this... could be good pointers for others who choose to source these lights. |

Thanks for posting clear photos Tom. IMO this looks to be a downgrade vs OEM LCI taillights. Maybe it's because the lens are clear vs red or tinted. I personally would not install these if it were my car. It resembles low budget altezza.

Looking forward to this update! Reminds me of the Blackline Euro Taillights style (clear lens)

Smoked lens goes well with that color car.
I got red coming so we shall see. Looks good though. Like the animated startup sequence for sure. |

Wow ok that’s is really nice.
No regrets deciding to buy these at all! of course they aren’t OEM quality! And I don’t expect them to be for $400 vs $9,000. 😂 Last edited by E92inSG; 12-03-2020 at 06:43 PM.. |
