[Canada] About to pull the trigger on a 2016 F82 M4. [Km's]
Car is pretty clean, has 40k kilometres. Not optioned out or anything..pretty barebones. Has the exact look that I want.. price is 52k CAD and dealer is not inclined to budge much. Going to get a PPI done but a couple things I wanted to get peoples opinion on here:
1. The car was previously leased and I wonder how well it was taken care of with how people typically throw lease cars around? Does this make anyone wary? 2. Looking at the service history here (Which is in Km's not miles) I would have liked to have seen more frequent oil changes (they are probably just going by manufacturer recommendations which is less frequent then most people who know these cars actually do them): View post on imgur.com Anything else to be aware of or look out for? Would have liked the sport exhaust and obviously a better market for buyers as from what I understand the market for used cars right now is as hot as its ever been but life is a bit too short and I wont be travelling for awhile. |

IMO leased vehicles MAY not be taken care of as well, but condition and maintenance history are the best indicators. A lease history wouldn't stop me from buying. So if color and options are what you want, and no red flags with history, my thoughts are that the price is a little Covid-high, but not crazy. Definitely get a PPI though.

As someone who has a leased ‘18 F82, I can say the above comment about not all leased vehicles being trashed is absolutely correct. I treat it like I own it, and my dealer knows and respects this. In fact, I may end up buying it at lease end.

Im guessing it has the exec package because one of the images in the ad has a shot of a backup camera on the display and it also has a heated steering wheel which I think only come with exec?

Yeah, and it should have leather interior. I thought you meant it's a base model when you said it was bare bones. Base models come with cloth interior and not as nice trim inside.

Just for comparison/data point to gauge the price. I know of a 2017 M3 with 72,200km, Mineral Grey with full Sakhir Orange Merino leather, Competition pack that got wholesaled for $58,900. Wholesalers usually mark wholesale cars up by 10-15% for retail.
I know you're looking at a M4 but if we're looking at what is essentially the same car with 2 additional doors, you can sort of gauge what you should be expecting during times where the supply is low and used car market is hot. |

Used car prices are crazy at the moment! Know I probably didn't get a good deal on the M4 comp ultimate I just put a deposit on but it checked all of the boxes for what I was looking for minus not being a manual

Hey, as you're long as you're happy that's all that matters. Price isn't everything if you're looking for something you have been saving/wanting for a while. Are you shopping for a price on a sticker or are you shopping for a car?
