One can of Torco 32oz costs 27$ (Amazon Prime),use 1/3 or ~11oz to make 91 into 93 so 9$/Tank. So an incremental $0.60 per gallon (assuming 15 gallons) for 93 equivalent fuel. E85 as mentioned previously is also a great option to boost octane |

So map 2 is not safe unless I add fuel additive or use 93 correct even tho I have downpipes.
That's my main question. I'm seeing that map 3 is saying its for 91 octane and less aggressive than map 1.... Does that mean I need to use map 1 with 93 also? |

Once the obd adaptor is available, which wires no longer need to be connected under hood ie spliced and which are still required to be connected for map 2 with e85 TIA |

JB4_S55 Map Guide as of v3.6 Firmware: Map 0: Disable JB4 / Full Pass Through Mode Map 1: Stage1 map adding approximately 40whp and 40wtq across the power band on pump gas. Suitable for all stages and fuel mixtures. Map 2: Slightly more aggressive version of map 1 intended for vehicles with exhaust modifications and 93+ octane fuel. Can also be used with E85 and racing fuel mixtures. Requires Stage2. Stage3 fuel connector suggested. Map 3: Slightly less aggressive version of map 1 intended for vehicles running on lower grade fuels such as 91 octane. Requires Stage2. Map 4: OEM performance but with JB4 active for datalogging only. Map 5: //M low torque (evaluation) map. Map 6: Custom tuning map. Map 7: Race gas map. Requires 100 octane unleaded fuel and for the fuel mass connector to be installed. Can be used with or without the EWG connectors but will make more power with the EWG connectors installed. This map can also be used with up to 35% E85 but in some vehicles & conditions this may cause a high fuel pressure drop and resulting stuttering. If this occurs drop down to map 2. Map 8: Methanol Injection map. Requires BMS FSB controller or methanol kit for progressive mapping and safety systems. For pump gas a meth additive of 30 is suggested while for race gas/E85 + meth up to a 75 additive can be used. The higher the meth additive the more aggressive the boost curve. A meth additive of 60 would be roughly equivalent to map 7. |

My suggestion after reading all 30odd pages on the burger forum, plus other threads.
map 3 - 91+ octane no modes map 1 - 91+ octane with downpipe map 1 - 93+ octane with or without downpipe map 2 - 93+ octane with downpipe the reality is you should pick whatever map you fee comfortable with being in-charge of your own destiny. I'd put it on the dyno and watch the AFs and log the runs. you may find that map2 with 91 and dps breaks up or the knock sensor takes over. You are better off running the correct map without issues than go with a map you shouldn't use and have your performance be jittery at best. The biggest issue is fuel/octane. Just run map 1 as you have it now When you want to run map 2, buy the 8oz torco (nothing else) and put a case in your trunk. Put a bottle in everytime you add gas. 8oz is good for +2 octane for every 10 gallons. A bottle is about $9. |
