$10,000 worth of damage from a curb
Hit a curb after sliding maybe 10 feet. Bent pieces of the suspension and ruined my wheel. The total came up to $10,000 and not a single body panel was scratched.

Had similar damage after swerving to avoid an accident. Clipped a small curb at 60mph. £6000 repair cost.

Ugh, thats horrible dude. I had the same exact thing happen to me.... not a single body panel touched.... total damage came out to be $14k. Bent tie rods are not fun... good thing is that it can be fixed in about a week or less depending on availability of parts.
Good luck to you!

Man I feel your pain. I've done that too - spun out on black ice. Crushed the rear right wheels and suspension but zero body damage. Best of luck on the repairs and here's to a speedy recovery.

Sucks, but that sounds about right. I slid into a curb in my '05 ZCP, and it came out to about that much (..if not a tad more). My curtain airbags deployed, I bent some suspension components, ruined two wheels, needed a new front bumper, etc. It wasn't pretty.

Had that happen in my E46 M3, except I had snows on still, I just turned off traction control to show off for a friend... Normally not a thing, but this was a cold night and I didn't think about the fact I was going up a bridge, where the pavement would be even colder than asphault on the Earth. Spun it at like 8 mph, smacked a curb pretty light honestly but bent the wheel up under the car a bit. I drove it home, but was shaking horribly. Did about 5k in suspension damage and nothing else. I had my winter wheels on so who cares about those.
Guess we both got a lesson out of these experiences. |

Had the same thing happen, destroyed a 3-piece wheel, suspension components, and the m-performance lip. Damage was close to $10k!

To the OP - first, sorry to see these pics but glad you are ok ...
Just wondering, was there actual ice on the ground, or did this happen just because the temperature was below 50 degrees (the presumed danger zone for summers)? From the close-up it looks like there was ice, but the zoomed out pic looks dry. Also just wondering if your summers are the MPSS's or the Continentals? |

Is this unique to the M4? There are countless Audi, Porsche, etc. drivers that run summer tires on days below 50 degrees in the Northeast and I have not heard of them having problems on dry roads, but have seen it now a few times on the F82 board. I'm ordering an M4 (live in CT/NYC) and am a bit nervous now. I have had xDrive BMWs for years. |
