Shadow codes are usually those which serve as a historical record (ie remnants left behind after an issue has been fixed). With ISTA+, when you run complete vehicle test, it shows list of faults with mileage at which they occurred. Some will be current issues while others are former. |

Hello,
I've recently updated my M4 including all ECU's besides HU_NBT and KOMBI to F020-18-11-531, everything went fine. I noticed strange thing, that when DSC start intervening car feels like it lost a little bit of power, its like DSC is cutting off some power to prevent wheels spinning but its not showing traction on cluster. If i turn DSC completely OFF its perfectly fine, so i think its some DSC/DME related thing. I'm running in winter, with winter tires(255/35,275/35). Anyone noticed anyhing similiar? |

It seems the link to the flashing guide is down, do you still have a copy or maybe the latest?
What would be the easiest way to do a full update? I haven't looked into flashing ECUs in a long time (2016) and I'm wondering if the process changed or there is something else out there. Thanks for your help! |

Just want to say thanks for the guide and thanks to Shawn for the links to data.
I updated the similar list of ECUs on this guide to F020-19-07-539 with ease. Did not update the GW. I even use the guide to make my own HP PSU. It works perfect but I never exceeded 10A! It was mostly hovering around 6A or less and peaked at 10.xxA for DME when the pumps came on. But i did have my battery fully charged beforehand. To be safe i did individual ecu at a time and each took roughly 3-4 minutes each. ICM took the longest at 10 minutes+ but only using 4-6A of current |

I didn't update kombi and nbt because I thought it requires the gw first? Plus my nbt is a retrofit hardware (4.x id6) so I wanna hold off on that. What changes would there be for the cluster if I update? Thanks |

Release notes are very rare, so it is tough to know.

You also need to check if you have OABR connected to Gateway. If not, you won't be able to flash it.

Flashing updates software files and injects new CAFD. Therefore, you will need to recode/activate fullscreen.

Ok need some help.
Did Fem_Gw with ease no problem! However, after this i just did check all (except NBT) and start the flash. Doing Fem_body -> it the flash went up to 100% then tal execution error with Ethernet - possbily lost connection and I suspect this is seat belt!!! I forgot the damn seat belt. so now i'm stuck and can't quit. I know it's just a matter of reflash but i can't quit and I can't reboot. I can't even disconnect battery as it's locked. So what do i do? So currently it's still trying to finish the tal execution. I stopped it and thought i can just reflash. It's just stuck... |

Ok fixed:
So it just happened that my laptop shutoff! Damn you macosx. Here's an experience for the books - Start/Stop ignition did nothing it was still on. - Boot locked so can't reboot the car. However, upon laptop restarted, I was able to connect to it again and reflashed it and this time with the seat belts on! Fembody updated in 4 minutes. Fem_gw updated in 2 minutes. I will now update the rest except nbt... |

Update: all updated successfully except for my retrofits. Nbt and FLE.
Most Ecu takes 3-5minutes. Kafas2 took 16minutes - PSU read 18-19A with vents went on. Kombi - took 8min - PSU read 14A It never went over 20A. However I realised my battery is at 38% when deleting transport mode in ista+ it said I need to recharge before delivery. I guess it uses the battery as well. I did have it fully charged beforehand. |
