You do not want relaxed hands when you are going through bumps and hops in the road at high speeds through lots of hazards around you (cars, bump, walls etc) if you have relaxed hands the steering wheel will shake and shimmy it out of your hands and lose grip and cause a crash
You are actually both right to an extent. You want a firm grip so you don't lose the wheel, and you don't want to lock your arms and shoulders which is what a death grip tends to make you do.

And everyone totally exonerates the bike rider and his failure to stop and render aid, if needed.

Yeah I could see where this was headed after the first surface change. Most likely he didn't keep his eyes forward, looked at the wall instead and reacted when the car started to change angle slightly, exasperating the problem. Always always always look where you want your car to go, not what you want to avoid.

Looks like I-4 near Orlando. Driving on that section at 60mph is difficult enough. Total clowns.

I didn’t mean death grip I mean firm enough to where the car doesn’t takes over you and not squeezing but hands gripped good at your steering position when going through stuff like that and knowing what the car will do when it goes in air and how to correct it

Ha did you watch the end? He does the opposite, he accelerates away. So unbelievably dangerous to weave in and out of traffic on a bike. One unpredictable lane change and it’s over. In a car you’re protected but so exposed on a bike.

I can't stand people who think it's prudent to weave between traffic on the freeway. If you're going to be an idiot and race on public streets, at least do it when there isn't any traffic.

Edit: he crashed because tire was 3psi low.
