Thoughts on front lip without side skirts?

I like the idea of a simple lip such as the LightWeight lip. But I'm not in love with the idea of having a straight lip while not having full side skirts..

What do you guys think?

I see many cars without the side skirts. It doesn't look odd to me honestly. Even the stock M4GTS has the huge lip up front without anything on the sides. The lightweight lip is even more subtle. Now side skirts on without a front lip looks weird.

I agree with poster above, I've seen plenty with front lips and no side skirts and it looks fine. I also think the added side skirts look good too, especially if they're on a contrasting color, like AW/SO/etc., the CF lip and side skirt combo really compliment the car.

I had front lip with no sides for over 6 months and it looked great. No need for side blades to go with front lip. I have since added the side blades, but it was on my list for a long time and I like change every few months.

First two pics are front lip only

I'm running the lightweight lip with no side skirts. Looks awesome, both stock and lowered. Mainly bought it to protect the front bumper from scraping.

There's no need for sideskirts with a front lip. I don't even believe there's a real market for sideskirts for the F80. They simply made them and few people now think they "need" them to complete the look. Save your coins.

For everyone running side skirts, where did you get them? Are the M Performance models carbon, or "plain" black? My OCD wouldn't go for non-matching trim.

I have the m perf painted in flat black. My lip is also FRP and I just ordered a diffuser in frp to keep the look. I did all CF bits on my last f80. Switching it up this time

Thanks all,

I ended up going with a Vorsteiner lip which was painted in a gloss black to match the grill. It looks fantastic and the car don't have the side skirts nor do I have no plans to add the side skirt. I also installed a cs style trunk lid to finish off the trimmings.

I mis-clicked the vote, so add one more to no side skirts required.

That said, if you run the BMW lightweight lip I would say you should run it with the front splitters, just because otherwise you can tell that something is missing on the lip where the splitters connect.

I had the BMW lower lip/carbon fiber splitters on my M3 and loved it. I did not have side skirts.

I completely agree. The LW lip and similar adds a line at the bottom of the vehicle

This is the reason I was ok with the vorsteiner lip. It has a shape that follows the natural curve of the oem bumper and doesn't add wan extra edge
