#rduF8Xs meetups

Anyone in North Carolina want to start meeting up on the weekends in RDU? Had a small get together today for some coding hosted by 997usa in Chapel Hill, see below for the turnout.

We are trying to make this a somewhat regular thing, like Cars & Coffee.

Met some good folk there today. For me distance is an issue but please keep me in the loop. Thanks 997usa for graciously hosting the get together.

Met up with the owner of Wake County Speedway at the Cars & Coffee in Wake Forest today (Mike, are you on here?). He is very interested in hosting a get together there, or possibly another location for us M-owners (his wife just picked up a Yas M4 vert).

Another thought for those that attend the C&C events in Wake Forest, Cary, and Morrisville - meeting before the events and riding in together.

Just thinking out loud here.

does the speedway have a drag strip? an oval might be good for drifting but I'm more a road course guy. I'd be interested in some road trips to other BMWCCA events at other tracks. willow springs is a dream of mine.

I'd like to go in together too. it looks cool and we'll all be together.

Wake County Speedway is a 1/4 mile oval. Not exactly the kind of thing to take an M car to.

The suggestion was more of just a location, not necessarily track time. His other business is a more secluded location which was his main suggestion.

Thanks DangerousTacos. I will definitely look you up at the 1200 mile service.

I may have seen your car at Performance when I was trying to decide on colors. Beautiful color, that Sakhir Orange.

RTP area folks, I have a few days before my F80 goes 150 status. I can't decide if I want to add the LED headlights to my build. I've read what I can find on them but the conclusion I've come to is unless you code them for the Euro function for the anti dazzle benefit, it'd probably not worth the expense. Any of you guys that have them have them coded?"0 If so, worth it to you? Where did you get it coded? TIA for breaking the tie...

are you going to code them? if so it sounds like you know the answer. if not it'll depend on the look. I've heard the 2016s get LED tails too and people seem to like that look better. it just depends if you want to spend that money on looks.

I don't have LEDs and the lights look fine. I might have gotten LEDs given another chance. I don't worry about it though. DCT was the big choice for me.

I am on the fence about coding. I might give it a try at some point. I think Bimmer Performance Center in Raleigh advertises the service.

I think you are right about the Xenons being absolutely fine. I'll probably just go that way.

I have xenons and have no regrets. I like the LEDs but not for $1900.

Don't worry about going to BPC for coding... its part of what this thread is for. First meet up was a coding event.

Same here I got Xenons with not regrets.
I own a 2016 and they do come with LED for the tail lights they are actually different from the 15's. I will save the 1,900 for the spoiler and other mods...just my opinion.

Im in the area and would be interested in the next meet. I have a F82 Yas.

Feel like i was next to 997 a few months back. Near Cole Park plaza. It is the only F80, F82 or F83 I've seen while on the road. Ever! Seems very rare around these parts. Pleased to see you had 6 together in Chapel Hill.

Talk soon.

Well, despite knowing that Xenon would be fine, I went ahead and ordered the lighting package. My eyesight isn't what it used to be & I can use all the brightness available on the back roads. The full Euro function also looks interesting. Appreciate the input on this. PCD currently scheduled for April 1.
