Help with tint
The law in DC says that the front can't be less than 70 and the rear can't be less than 50 . Did anyone here actually bother following that? and how did you pass your inspection if you did?
I've been trying to look at pictures and videos to see if 70 tint even looks different at all and can't get a good sense of it. Would it be worth even getting it for the front, if I followed the rules? Thanks for the input everyone. |

I got VA tints on mine, which I believe are 55/35, live in DC though. I used to live in VA, I may move back, which I told the shop when they brought up my DC tags.
55 on the front is quite light, anything above that is virtually the windows natural tint. I haven't gotten inspected yet, I'm not sure what folks mean by "pick a center that'll pass it"; there's only the Water street location and what, one other? I see cars with DC tags all the time with way darker tint. I'm not worried about it. Worst case inspections are good for two years. Plenty of time to enjoy it; I'd even get it redone right after if I had to remove it to pass. Has anybody here literally ever gotten failed for tint in DC? |

Thanks for the responses everyone. Y'all have convinced me. I'm just gonna get them tinted how I want and deal with the consequences if they come. Life is too short to worry about this s***.
