Extended Warranty question

Hi all, I purchased a 2016 F80 from a BMW dealership, not CPO. Car looks to be in great condition, has another year of factory warranty left, and I'm considering whether or not I should get extended coverage through BMW.

The extension would cover two additional years and another 40,000kms which is on par with what I'd expect to put on in two years time. Regular price on the warranty is $4020, and they're willing to knock $500 off that price.

Is that reasonable? Have any of you run into warranty issues during your ownership?

Appreciate any perspectives.

I can't say anything about warranty issues, I've never had problems with my dealer over 4 cars...I just got my 2018 M3 and added 2 years of warranty for 3550 + tx, just over 4k total, so if you're getting it for around 3500, sounds like a good price to me

Seems reasonable - especially for a used car that you haven't experienced since it was brand new - relatively small price to pay for piece of mind.

I would consider aftermarket bmw warranty. Some have the exact same coverage for half the price. I had i-select and it was great.

Can you advise which aftermarket warranty you are referring to?

OP, do note if you plan to tune the car, the BMW extended warranty is useless if it's motor related. They won't cover if the see the car was running more boost as most members have noted in the SCH thread.
