Extended Warranty

I just picked up a 2015 M4 with 36k miles and 4 months left on the factory warranty. I am definitely going to get an extended warranty and want to find out what everyone's experience is with those. I was offered one from the lot (not a BMW dealer) I bought it from but am hesitant about that. I have a friend who has a Porsche C4S that swears by AutoNation and their Platinum (very few exclusions) warranty. I have some time but know the longer I wait and get closer to the factory warranty runs out it will get more pricey.

know that BMW earlier this year raised the price of all their programs across the board a little so they are a little bit higher now. If you want the lowest price out there though we can offer you that.

We blow those out for forum member if your interested, just follow the info here!

I went with the extended warranty from Steve Thomas BMW and highly recommend doing the same if you are looking for one.

Are they refundable? Mine is up in two months and I am considering moving on from the car in the near future.

I dont believe so, however I am not a expert on warranties and could be wrong. you would have to look into that or call a dealership and ask the finance dept, I would guess the answer would be no. IF yes, report back and let us know!

Sorry for hijacking the thread.
I have a '18 (Dec '17 delivery) with only 5K miles. I plan to keep the car for >8 years.
Is it better to get an extended warranty now (lower rate while the car is still relatively new and under factory warranty) or should I wait until closer to the expiration of the factory warranty?

Thank you!

IF you plan on keeping the car past the factory warranty then pick one up. If you are not sure or there is some possibility you would get something else before the factory runs out then wait a little just my 2 cents
