Unfortunately in the US, we are addicted to SUVs - but then again, we aren't allowed to travel at Autobahn speeds...the advantages to having a wagon instead in that environment is easy to see.

I would much rather have a badass sleeper wagon in the family. The wife still isn't sold on that idea so she's clinging to her 340. |

The one aspect I do understand is the overall riding height - for example, my gf is pretty short (5'0") and she wanted something a little higher off the ground, so she got the Q3. Other than that, I really don't see the appeal - the basic design of an SUV is counter intuitive to dynamics or handling...

But seriously. I do understand that some prefer the higher ride height. I get that. I on the other hand prefer a sporty handling "race car" Guess that's why I have an ///M4 |

Unfortunately, That beast won't make it to the U.S. Ian. Would definitely pick one up if offered, but again I'm like you....it would have to be a manual.
Great looking Wagon though! |

So much want! A few years back the mrs had a job offer that would have taken us to the U.K. for at least 5 years. She ultimately turned it down for a "better" offer to stay US based (mostly we didn't want to move the kids that far from grandparents/friends). I was already communicating with a couple of guys selling rs6 Avants in and around Edinburg as I figured I'd live out my euro dream as a house husband/golf caddie with a badass wagon.

People like the idea of a family 5 door 5 seater that can carry loads of stuff but still out drag that guy in his slammed M4. The Porsche Granturismo again has had a good reception and there is history of one off and small run shooting brakes based upon higher end cars as well that always get loads of attention. But they are still a small market and BMW have given up on them because being cool doesn't always make you money.

I don't get the internet fascination for these wagons. When fully loaded up with family and kids, the handling benefit is irrelevant, and when going 60-70mph the power benefit is irrelevant. The e63 in particular was a big head scratcher for me. I'd take a tow vehicle (e.g. Base cayenne) / trailer / track car combo any day for the same money Also, an acquaintance of mine got into a head on collision with a ram pickup while in a Camry. The car crumpled like a tin can and it is going to be a long road to walking again. If it was an x5 (or excursion...) vs Ram, he might have had more of a shot Anyway, when x135 lease is up, I'll be looking for a bigger SUV for safety of my family + tow ability for me No thanks on the 3900+lb Audi. I hope the f80 doesn't put on any more pork than it already has |

I would be all over one of these if they brought it to the US. Perfect high performance daily. Throw multiple sets of golf clubs in the rear with ease, perfect for Costco and Home Depot runs, and virtually all the performance of a high performance sedan. All wheel drive for foul weather. Plus, I happen to think they look cool. Sign me up! |

Haha! I am a huge fan of small cars myself (the largest car I've ever had is an X1) but yea, a Camry is tiny compared to a Full size pickup. Since we are talking about fast daily drivers here, my vote is still for f80 to stay light and RWD, but regardless, x5m or x550 type of cars have my vote for fast DD. The ride height helps to make sure the crash zones will take the hit on a collision and there's even more utility |

When I was in Germany for my ED last year, there were numerous Audi RS wagons. They certainly looked the business, and I was sad that BMW has ceded the market of high performance wagons to Audi and Mercedes.
