Same with the AA mid-pipe, in fact, AA sells a replacement brace for more clearance if needed.

Pic below..

This pipe will definitely not bolt up to an MPE without modification for a couple of reasons.

1. The two connecting pipes that meet the single 3.5" pipe are ball and socket flanges, just like the original AA pipe. The MPE piping is a slip fit design, to slip over the OEM pipe once it's cut and then clamped on.

2. The lengths are totally wrong, if you look at the green lines that you drew which is where you would cut to fit the MPE, it's in a completely different area of the VRSF pipe if you lined them up next to each other.

The only way to bolt this VRSF pipe, as well as the AA pipe, is to cut the MPE piping and clamp the VRSF/AA connecting pipes to it just as you would an OEM muffler.

There have been some people who said they have no issues if they follow the AA recommended method of using a small wooden block between the oem mount and midpipe before tightening everything down.

I think I may pull the trigger on the VRSF unit soon and try using that method and see how it looks once mounted. If it becomes an issue I'll order the AA mount.

A buddy of mine bought an AA mid for his M4 in March and he didn't get a replacement brace, it also fit fine without needing it.

Maybe they included it for the M2C version because it absolutely requires it for clearance.

looks like youre right. i didnt even notice the ball/socket connection until you mentioned it. very difficult to tell from the screen grab from above. and judging by your description, the vrsf looks to be pretty much a direct rip off of the AA midpipe.

so yeah, not a direct bolt-on. and i aint cutting my MPE so itíll be a no for me then.

Functionally it certainly does. The AA midpipe is a single piece for the entire section where it's one larger pipe where this one is two parts for some reason.

VRSF mention the MPE twice on their website.

https://www.vr-speed.com/vrsf-high-f...0-f82-s55.html

"Please note that this item will fit the MPE/Competition Package with no modification. "

"Compatible with both the OEM muffler as well as the MPE included in Competition Pack models."

Someone should contact them and to be sure.

The MPE isn't included in competition models.

I just place my order on Friday (7/19). Contacted their support team and it looks like these are supposed to arrive on their next shipment at the end of the week.

Although it is a copy of the AA design, it would be interesting to see the results in a dyno.

grateful if anyone did the job

Buy me one and I'll do it I have the AA midpipe sitting in a box I'm actually planning to dyno it to get baseline numbers before I start modding anything

One is a unique design and hand made in the USA. The other is a Chinesium knock-off. I know which one I was proud to give my money.

Is the only difference between this and the dual 2.5" version the sound produced? The single removes the secondary cats and resonators, while the dual version keeps the factory resonators, correct?

Has anyone installed the new single mid pipe yet with the MPE. Still waiting to see if modifications are actually needed to the MPE regardless of all the speculation. I received a message from one of their vendors that no modification is needed as well.

Update the thread if possible please
