I've never had a mustang that could keep up with me and I'm just FBO on 92. But I'm pretty sure none were E85 so that would probably be a good race

A FBO e85 f8X can hang with a Lambo Huracon Performante but the performante will start pulling on very high speeds

If by bolt-ons you mean bolt-on boost then yes. Otherwise an NA mustang isn't hitting 9's unless its stripped and built trans plus everything else in needs in suspension. I lived in the S550 community since 2015 when I got mine. I ran 9.4's and mine laid down 856 rear whp to get there plus built trans etc..

My M3 is basically stock right now (front mount Intake and vrsf single mid pipe) and I just walked away from and FBO S197 and was only slowly pulled on by a 2018 10R80 E85 mustang. Yes roll race since an M3, even wth DR's can seem to go lower than a 1.8 60ft there is no point in trying to go from a dig. My mustang cut 1.4s with no issues.

Evidence of my experience

I'm with this guy. I had a 2016 coyote with a TVS blower, full fuel system, E85, blah, blah, blah with a TR6060 manual trans. It was a 10.1 car with good rubber. It would eat the M4. However, an A10 E85 Mustang would be close to an E85 M4 DCT in my opinion. I ran a mustang the other day from a roll, and he was on my rear fender until he laid off at about 110. Wish I could've got his mod list.... got interrupted..... and it got expensive.

I have a whole lot of seat time in both cars in manual transmission spec. As others have said with e85 the M4 is gonna win by a good bit. Ill take the Mustang if it has e85 and the M is on pump.

As far as owning one Ill take the e85 Coyote. Both are fun but only one sounds good. Give me a GT Premium PP2 with the Recaro buckets. 45k all day long.

I just ran with a cool Mustang owner I ran into on the road the other day. He had a passenger and I was alone.

He was a 18/19 GT and he "said" he was bone stock. May have been the performance package though. It had stripes down the middle but was def a GT. Don't know if the stripes mean anything on a Mustang.

Anyhow, I am on BM3 Stage 1 - 93 oct (6MT).

I was shocked at how fast that car was up to the 130s. We were essentially dead even all the way up. I was expecting to start walking away from him at some point and it never actually happened.

So many variables to this story (regarding what this Mustang was actually running), but that car moved!!!

18+ A10 is actually a bit quicker than the GT 350. The manual in the GT 350 slows it down, even though it’s 525 BHP. I walked one in my 240 when I was just BM3 Stage 2 93.

past 120 mph a gt 5.0 can pull a gt350?

i don't think so, but yes when i posted I was thinking about the pre 18 5.0s.

The current 5.0 and the F8x are too close to compare but the F8x is tunable for a few hundred bucks and leaves it hanging.

Not sure about over 120, but the 10A is impressive. Seems like a few dozen of the 525 horses in the GT-350 are out to pasture, from what I've read and seen. Sounds insane though.

Yeah, I don't know if it's the gearing or something else, but it's the lamest 500hp out there. The numbers just don't add up to me. Newer GT performance just makes way more sense.

I don't even think the 5.2 sounds that great. It's like Ford didn't want to fully commit to the FPC sound, so they have this half-ass tone between cross and flat plane to not piss off mustang customers.

I love everything else about the 350, I'm not just purposely crapping on it. I just think Ford could have done better with the 5.2, because the newer 5.0 to me is a way better engine.

Okay....... Here's my experience with both M4 and GT350's. I have a bunch of cars, including a 2020 M4, a 17' GT350 and a 2020 GT350R. GT350 lame? I'm not sure what track you're running at, or watching at, but the GT350 or GT350r's do very well on road courses, and really are a bargain for a track car. You're the first person I have ever heard comment negatively about the engine sound. I have had family, friends, hard core car owners and strangers positively comment on the sound of the GT350's, especially at tracks, drag and road courses. While I throughly enjoy my M4, and the 7 other M cars that I have previously owned, no one ever commented on the sound of any of them.

I'm not sure if the 5.2 is better than the 5.0 or not, but my 17' GT350 is twin turbo'd, with 1470 whp, and is without issue. The initial build, with basically a stock motor, and netted 1143 whp. I would think that it's every bit as good as the 5.0's.

For road course comparisons, I have seen GT350r's and M4 GTS's run neck and neck, so close it comes down to the driver's skill set. For "drag racing" I would give the edge to the M4, but most people drag racing either or these cars probably aren't drag racers, but more likely enthusiasts, and stock, neither cars are that impressive from my point of view.
Regarding the comment above regarding tuning..... There are tons of cheap tunes available for both the M4's and Mustangs, and as expected, both platforms have thread after thread on respective forums (including this one) about problems with "cheap".

Thanks for your insight, really shortened your quote to save space.

I knew my post would be unpopular haha, but it's just my opinion, nothing more. And to clarify, I didn't call the 350 lame. Far from it. I LOVE the car, and think it's more of an M car than the M3/4. I just think the 5.2 in stock form doesn't feel like 525 HP as much as other cars with that much power. Maybe it's the gearing, maybe it's the power delivery, or the weight. Not sure. And I by no means am saying the M3/4 sounds better, never did. I just don't care for the 5.2's exhaust note for a V8. I think cross planes and Ferrari V8s sound better. Just personal preference.

I don't view your opinion as unpopular, everyone is entitled to their own, and I respect yours. Ford built the GT350's to be used on road courses. The gearing generally works for that. The power delivery is set up for that and its less than stellar street/strip 0-60 turns some people off, even some owners off. This is where the GT with the A10 works better. When I bought my 2017 GT350 I knew exactly what I was getting, and after driving it to put some break in miles, decided that I really liked the car, and its handling but I wanted more power across the spectrum. So I increased the power about 3 fold

After saying this, I still daily drive (mostly) the M4 DCT, its quick, well built, handles well, easier to drive and quieter. Tomorrow I start down the tuning road, but won't go too deep as the M4 is my work car.

Not yet, he just talks crap but never comes out to run
it's really who dont spin thru first and second gear off the line. the bmw has the advantage there. I know from experience raced my 2012 srt forged motor blower blah blah makes great power against my buddies lightly modded m4 could not take him from a dig never. got on the free way left him like ran away from him
point is get em on the dig

Last Friday I ran into a 5.0 on the fwy. I'm fbo with e85 and I was surprised I was only slowly walking away from him.

He never caught up and we ended up at the same e85 station and I noticed he had drag radials. He was visibly upset and wouldn't even look at me for a friendly nod haha.
