MPE tip install help.

The bottom hex bolt that secures the carbon tip on to the MPE protrudes through the inner part of the metal when I install it as shown in the picture. The tip is on there secure from what I can tell but that protrusion is a bit of an eye sore.
Does the tip need to be pushed in more? If anyone has some advice let me know. Thanks in advance.

WTH?
Someone installed the set screw too deep. It’s not supposed to protrude

It would not secure on to the muffler without going in that deep. That's why I'm confused.

It won't fully stay in place if it's not screwed in all the way like that. A washer would just make it so that it can't screw in as far and the tips will just fall off.

No.
The perforated section goes inside the MPE outlet. The set screw sets against the outside of that outlet.

Either you have the tips too far out and not secured against the MPE metal tip.

5Nm tightening should not create that dimple if done correctly.

How about a picture of the underside set screw?
I have a feeling it’s not the OEM screw

What he said , the screw should be hitting the exhaust pipe, and not the inner of the tip. Skip to about 1:30 you will see where the screw sit.

Have a feeling mine aren't as pushed in as they're supposed to be... Will give it another shot tomorrow with the tips pushed in further.

Good luck. Hopefully the dimples won’t be as noticeable because unless you smooth them down, they’ll be there forever.

WOW this was a massive help and just what I needed, thank you! I put on a Vorsteiner diffuser today and I have the ///M Performance exhaust with carbon tips. With the diffuser on, the tips are too far back and under the diffuser. I'm so happy it's an easy one screw underneath to move them, and I'll bring them forward a bit in the morning tomorrow. Thanks again for the help here!

Love your car btw.
