I will be doing a ED next year and I want a ring picture as well!
only did 4 laps. track was wet, and we had to get moving to keep up with the rest of the trip. it was totally worth going out of our way to get there. honestly, the videos you watch of the ring can't prepare you for just how much elevation change there is. the ups and downs are absolutely crazy, and the blind corners certainly add to the thrill.

I didn't do as good of a job on interior shots - I'll see what else I have though.

no issues for me - the border controls seem to have started right after we go out of there - guess we got lucky. Hallstat was on our list as a possible day trip - place looks awesome. Salzburg is incredible though - best stop we made on our trip.

thanks buddy - wouldn't have made the choice had it not been for your help. can't believe yours is getting back that soon. I'm stuck doing PCD, so that will add to the delay for me (hope it's worth it though). the good thing is I clocked 1,260 miles on the trip, so it should be past the break-in service when I pick it up and drive 700 miles back to Chicago.

will see what else I have. it was tough to photograph - like the other BMW stitching options, it wasn't a bright, full color. it's a little more muted and understated than say the Porsche yellow stitching for instance. the stitching is really more like an Austin Yellow - I think it would pair perfectly with that exterior color, for any getting AY.

I had hoped to get lucky and get PSS's, but the Conti's didn't bother me one bit.

Very nice. I would have probably chosen Red as I think it goes better with the paint. But it certainly grabs your attention!

SMB - best blue on this car by far. Enjoy!

Beautiful combo. I'm loving that blue , and that stitching is pretty nifty.

You'll be able to tell your kid he(she)'s already been on a race track, and not any race track .

Beautiful car and really glad you posted interior pics of the yellow contrast stitching. I really like the option. How long was the delay because of it?

I considered it for my car, but just couldn't pull the trigger.

Congratz! Love the colours! I would have the car coated asap to keep it in such a pristine condition.

What's the up charge on just getting a different color stitching, if sticking with one of the normally offered color leather interiors?

Awesome thank you!

What if I only decide to do one lap? Do you think that is enough laps/time for photographers to snap my picture?

Since its a new vehicle and depending how busy it is on the ring I would be reluctant to do more than 1 lap.

there are no guarantees, but it's likely that you will be photographed even on only one lap, especially if you go on a popular day. there are normally a number of photographers who will hang out at the karussell all day long.

also, i'd get a 4-lap package. there's a bit of a discount, and you will only have to wait in line to get onto the track once, then you can do 4 laps and pack it in. despite substantial prior track and racing experience, and probably thousands of gran turismo 'ring laps, my first real lap on the 'ring was rather nervous. i had more fun in the following laps. i wouldn't bother just doing one personally.

your chances of being photographed are probably close to 100% if you can do at least a couple laps (especially if it's mid-day). I was out there first thing in the morning, and I don't think they had any pics from my first couple laps.

+1. the first lap was nerve-racking (particularly in the wet). it dried off significantly in the subsequent laps and I became much more comfortable. it's an absolute blast. highlight of the trip for sure.
