The Flow Formed EC-7: Born To Clear Massive Brakes

Through comprehensive laser scanning and endless rounds of test-fitting, the EC-7 was created to clear massive brake kits. Offered in three unique profile designs, the Flow Formed EC-7 offers maximum concavity without sacrificing clearance.

The updated rear 18x11 ET44s were produced first and are on the way, but the critical front wheels were on a later production run. We are waiting for those to finish and get shipped over before launching them.

Got it, as I'm running the OEM sizes of 255/40 and 275/40 rears, this means ill need the 18x9 and 18x10 arc8s right? These are the wheels that are waiting to be finished?

We are currently prioritizing the 18x9.5 ET22s, 18x10 ET25s and 18x11 ET44s as these form our most common 18" staggered setups for this chassis. Based on what my production is telling me, the 18x9 ET30 "V2" units will be arriving in July/August so they are further out.

► New Fitments available to pre-order in 19" diameters for the F8X

Back by popular demand: Our classic ARC-8 and EC-7 designs are now available in our 19" F8X M3/4 specific staggered fitment. While our SM-10s have been a great performer in these sizes, we can't resist the classic look of ARC-8s and EC-7s on an M car and are excited to be releasing wheels in the following sizes:

EC-7: 19x11 ET44

ARC-8:19x11 ET43

These all-new rear wheels will pair perfectly with our existing 19x10 ET25 or 19x9.5 ET22 wheels for an aggressive staggered fitment. For those after an OEM+ or winter fitment, our EC-7s will also be available in an all new 19x9 ET30 size to give you even more APEX options for your M3 or M4.

Whether you are trying to clear your OE CCBs or want the flexibility of running street tires with a wide rear fitment, our new ARC-8 and EC-7 options are the perfect fit for your F8X M car.

We do have a specs chart listed under the "our wheels" tab on our website. They are organized by each wheel model. Just scroll down towards the bottom till you see the data table:

A Classic Returns...

Back and Better Than Ever!

Our Profile 3 ARC-8s are back with an all-new barrel design optimized specifically for the OE steel brakes on the F80 M3 and F82/3 M4. Many of you were already aware of the original ARC-8s limited barrel design that interfered with the 380mm factory brakes on the F8X chassis. This prevented square fitments with our 18x10 ET25 wheels and also meant that we didn't initially develop 18x11 ET44 ARC-8 rear wheels for these cars.

Optimized Barrel Design

Brake clearance was our foremost goal with the new ARC-8s. The new barrel allows us to clear the F8X M3 and M4 brake calipers easily while still maintaining a deep profile 3 level of concavity. On the inside edge, the inner lip has been strengthened to bring our older ARC-8 design up to the standards of our other wheel lines and give you an even more track-ready wheel at a competitive price point.

Deep Concavity

For us and for many other BMW enthusiasts, a huge part of the appeal of the ARC-8s lies in their deep concave profile synonymous with the M3 chassis and performance BMW fitments. While going to lower profile flatter-faced wheel designs is an easy way to gain brake clearance, we were able to clear the factory brakes without sacrificing concavity which also helps us keep these wheels light. Reducing unsprung rotational mass provides critical benefits on track and it starts with a great set of wheels.

Wide Rear Fitments

Our 18x11 ET44 wheel was purpose-built for the rear of these cars to give the enthusiast looking to maximize rear-end grip tire options ranging from 200TW 305/35-18s up to 315/30-18 tires for those willing to make adjustments in the rear. This tried and true fitment is now available in our Flow-Formed ARC-8 design for the first time and can be paired with 18x10 ET25 front wheels for our popular bolt-on staggered fitment.

Paging BMW owners in the Bay area!

If you're interested in free professional photos of your car on brand new APEX wheels, we are looking for volunteers for testfiitting and photoshoots! Volunteers will get copies of the photos, a discount on a set of APEX wheels, and APEX goodies/swag. If you're interested in volunteering, please email us at info@apexraceparts.com with your contact information, location, and a photo of your car. All are welcome. Show us what you've got!

If you'd like to take an inside look at what these photoshoots involve, our good friend Blake made a video detailing the process of an 18" test fitment on his F82 M4 recently:

Hi the APEX Team and everyone, I'm considering a new set of APEX wheels and 200TW tires for the upcoming track day season. My F80 M3 has CCB and is running KW Clubsport 2 Way suspension (see attached photos for the ride height). The car is running -3.1 and -2.2 camber front and rear, respectively. Both front and rear fender inner liners are having a lot of rubbing under heavy compression at the track. My concern is with the new setup will I have less or even more rubbing for track use (lapping days).

Current setup:
F: 19" x 9.5" ET22 | 265/35-19 Michelin Cup 2 (non-Star) | Overall Diameter: 26.3" | Tread Width: 9.3"
R: 20" x 10.5" ET34 | 285/30-20 Michelin Cup 2 (Star) | Overall Diameter: 26.8" | Tread Width: 10.3"

Target new setup:
F: 19" x 9.5" ET22 | 275/30-19 Falkens RT660 | Overall Diameter: 25.6" | Tread Width: 10.2"
R: 19" x 11" ET43 | 305/30-19 Falkens RT660 | Overall Diameter: 26.3" | Tread Width: 11.4"

While the target new setup is definitely wider, the overall diameters are smaller (and that the rear wheels have different offsets although wider).

Based on APEX's fitment guide, the target new setup is APEX's Staff Pick and is a direct fit meaning no modification is required as the Hardcore Track / Race Fitment. Moreover, my car is running (not a lot) more negative camber than is suggested as required by APEX. However, given the rubbing to the front and rear fender inner liners with my current setup, I wonder if I can expect less or more rubbing with the new setup if the ride height and camber angles remain unchanged. Your help or experience with a similar wheel and tire setup will be much appreciated.
