▀▄ eas | Evolution Racewerks S55 intake charge pipes - Overview

The Evolution Racewerks Charge Pipe is designed to fix the under engineered charge pipe from the factory. Replacing them with metal piping allows them to keep a full 2.25 inch diameter all the way from the turbo flange to the intercooler. Immediately after unboxing we noticed the CNC machined flange bolted perfectly to the turbos. Charge pipes included new silicone couplers and hose clamps so fitting was a breeze. Both fit in right under the OEM engine cover quite nicely. Ours was one of the first production pieces so they came in a brushed finish. Anodized black will be available shortly in 3 week for those who want a more OEM looking pipe. All pipes include a meth bung pre-installed so they will support future mods.

On the dyno didn't feel any gains or difference, but we didn't expect it to. This is piece is just designed to be a bulletproof replacement for the failure prone OE Charge Pipes.

As many of you know the intake charge pipes on the s55 have been a hot subject lately. Here is a link to the cracked, broken or damaged ones so far:
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1113212 . We have seen charge pipes fail on both completely stock and tuned vehicles.

When this happens the car will go into limp mode with the following codes:

P00BD: Mass or volume air flow a circuit air flow too high
P00BF: Mass or volume air flow b circuit air flow too high
P11E0:

Install difficulty
- Scale of 1-5 = 2
- Install time: ~1 hour

Features:
- Lightweight 2.25" High Grade 6061 Aluminum Piping
- Includes all hardware for complete installation.
- Limited Lifetime Warranty.
- Integrated meth bung/ boost nozzles
- CNC machined flanges
- High temp silicone couplers
- Available in polished aluminum or black anodized finish

Fitment is essentially perfect, as easy as removing and replacing the stock Charge Pipe. The integrated methanol bungs are great for those adding their own methanol system or for obtaining an analog boost signal on the dyno. The anodized or polished finished finish adds a little bit of flair under the hood. Thanks to Evolution Racewerks for being first to market and for providing a solution in such a short amount of time.

Pre-orders are now being accepted, technical questions can be answered in this thread.

Those do look awesome.

I may buy them just for the underhood eye candy.

I won't say, How much for no power. But I will ask how much? They do look good. I like the ER logo silicon joiners.

I wasn't a fan of polished at first, but they are definitely growing on me. Adds a little bit of "pop" when the hood is raised since most is hidden under the engine cover.

Good post!
Hopefully other vendors are not claiming this. These are a necessary part for any tuned application in terms of durability.

No we have never had to trim the engine cover to fit them.

I had a issue with these pipes on my 2017 M3. After I had the ER charge and down pipes installed with the VF engineering tune, my car developed a annoying rattle at stops and neutral. After talking with ER and having Sonic MS inspect it, it turns out the air box has a different part number and is bigger then the older ones and it got pushed up and was rattling off the carbon fiber brace. I place a plastic bushing in between which resolved it.

ER does have a different part number for intakes. It has a little indentation in the pipe to clear aftermarket intake such as Dinan and AWE.
