DIY: Using Adaptive LED Cornering Lamps as Fog lights.
SO does anyone know if we can use this switch with coding of front and rear got setups - I have the rear fogs coded on and switch modified to use them but would much prefer to have the annotated switches (especially if they happen to light on when in use which I guess they likely do not - do have the console icon light up though?) - this switch works with the F3X cars and seems as though they really ought to work on the F8x, no?

Cheers, C.

This is my car with euro beams enabled. Yours is now disabled like mine and few others were disabled. dmnc02 put up a nice guide telling how to enable them back. Check that out. It's a real paper

Your question was this:

Quote:
So I wonder then if at the port, they code ED vehicles, or all vehicles...
and I answered "all" vehicles. I think I answered your question.

You did, just not as completely as I would've hoped.

But if I understand you correctly, "All [North America-bound] vehicles are decoded [at the arrival port]."

FTFY.

My understanding is that your car is delivered to US specs when you take delivery at the Welt, so VLD and NGHB are decoded at the factory. Nothing additional needs to be done at port.

Awesome! My suggestion if anyone decides to order a new switch is just to pop out the two buttons and swap them out with the blanks. No need to remove the whole switch to get two new buttons. Just save yourself the time and any potential damage to your car's interior trim.

Good suggestion however one question - does the current (OEM USA) switch have the requisite LEDs (or what ever light is used) in place to illuminate the icons - can't recall if the LEDs were in there or not when I modded the tab to enable the rear fog switch?

Not to lead the horse to water but look on ebay, I just grabbed a euro switch for $35 shipped from the UK. Beats $150 . There are a few more left but they start around 35Lbs plus shipping.

I can only find ones being shipped from Latvia. Would you mind sending me the link to where you got yours from?

The seller I found only had 1 unit. But these are the others I saw from the UK for a little bit more than I what I paid.

Here you go:
