Stick to Nitto NT01 or try BFG R1 (Or Toyo RR)
Anyone have experience with at least 2 of the three? I've been hearing that the RR is a better NT01 from a few sources but always heard great things about the R1.
I love the NT01 but don't want to fixate on one tire without giving others a fair chance. Priorities for me, in order: Audible @ Limit No crazy grip drop throughout a day of heat loading (Like RE71R) Speed Life vs Heat Cycle Life vs Cord |

Yoko A052's are the hot new tire on the scene for the dandy lappers out there so I hear.
I'm still in an abusive relationship with RE71R's. I CANT QUIT YOU |

I do. I'd suggest the BFG R1, which lasts forever even while pounding it. The thing is, with stock suspension it is not faster than the RE71.
The R1 is actually cheaper to run than the RE71 is you are running fast. As you are on stock suspension I suggest you stick to a RE71-style tire. |

Have you tried RRs? Any opinion on those. You giving me the go on the R1 is going to lean me heavy in that direction, you should already know that. |

I have not tried the RR. I would put RE71 on your stock wheels (I also have the stock CS wheels with RE71 mounted if you want to try them instead) and if you want to try something else, A052s etc seem good. |

Definitely very important for me, don't trust myself enough to go slick mode yet. |

I have run both on lighter vehicles. The BFG on a E46 M3 track car, and the RR on my SpecE46 (it is the spec tire). Both have plenty of life and are fairly consistent. They are not a true "slick" in the sense that they are a DOT tire still, but as someone else mentioned they do not have as much audible feedback. I am pretty sure the BFG ran similar times on the E46 M3 to the RE71 but were definitely more consistent if I remember correctly.

Then shy away from track tires. But IMO, you should evolve your driving to feel the tires through the chassis. The "audible" warning is engineered into street tires for folks who don't know how to drive .

If you really want something audible that "talks" to you, try out the Goodyear SC3's, they do not shut up! My lord they sound like all-seasons out there lol. Grip level is really solid, price is great, and they wear relatively well.
I never saw the grip dropoff of the RE71R's you mentioned. Sure they start to get greasy and your laptimes stabilize but to be they still grip pretty darn well beginning to end. I've never tried slicks, but the bridgestones seem more like a R-comp to slick them NT01s and SC3s, sound-wise. No experience with the BFG, but my vote is to move away from the Nittos. |

Must be a NY thing..
You said "crazy grip drop throughout a day" which is not true of the RE71R. Greasy as in you need to try harder to achieve the same lap time or even a slightly lower lap time, I never specified how much they fall off, but you made it sound more dramatic than it is. NT01 is mediocre at best. Tires these days, even available as OE, are better and offer less compromises. |

The only tire that I've been told comes close is the RR but even then it's about half the life of the NT01. Fast is good but I'm not at the level where I'm shaving tenths so my experience with them so far has been really satisfying. I did manage to heat cycle them out after around 8-10 track days. Tons of tread left. |

Did you run them on the F80 or another platform?

However, for HPDE/Lapping days where there’s no plastic trophy to be won, they offer a bloody good compromise of decent grip, wear, cost, consistency, predictably and immunity to heat cycling. For me, I find to be a very decent cost effective option.
