F82/S55 strange sound

Hey,

I have noticed some strange sounds when measuring an oil on warm engine. I hear some knocking coming from the left side of the engine (looking from the front of the car).
During idle everything sounds as usual - haven't noticed anything.

Oil was changed about 4k km ago to LM 10W60.
The car has ~60k km mileage - to 45k the oil was changed by the previous owner at the dealer with an interval of 20k km - after that, I was changing it after every 8k km.

Do any of have an idea can a reason for that sound? Or is it normal for this engine? That was the first time I was measuring oil with my hood popped up.

I think that oil is causing problems.

Thanks guys. I'm just wondering why a lot of services recommend this oil for S55? Also I heard you can ask for this oil in German dealer

Those services have been left behind. The 10W60 is the oil for the M3 E9X not F8X. For S55 5W30 or 0W30.

Fairly common, my car has done that for the past few years. There's a thread about it https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1645060

Some fix it, some don't since there doesn't seem to be any catastrophic issues related to it.

I just do the OEM oil change kits from FCP Euro. I stopped using Liquimoly as well
