More BMW F82 M4 Coupe and F80 M3 Sedan Renders and Our Analysis
BIMMERPOST NEWS More BMW F82 M4 Coupe and F80 M3 Sedan Renders and Our Analysis Here are some renders of the upcoming M3 sedan and M4 coupe put together by site member E92Alpine328i (Jerry). Our analysis: M4 COUPE (F82) The F82 M4 coupe render will prove to be the more accurate of the two. Most accurate is the M6 style bumper, which BMW insider Scott26 has recently said (and sketched) to be the styling to expect for the M4 coupe. The F32 4 Series coupe and F82 M4 coupe are expected to feature similar headlights to the F30 3 series, but should be sleeker/slimmer. Their kidney grilles will be also be sleeker than those seen on the render, as the recently exposed 4 Series coupe grille spy photos show. No spy photos have yet to show a hood bulge [UPDATE: the first M3/M4 prototype has just been spotted with a power dome / hood bulge! - see F80 M3 power dome spy photos. If the spy photos are any indication, also expect to see a more fastback shape to the rear hood line, unlike the E92 M3 coupe hood line from which this render borrows. M3 SEDAN (F80) These F80 M3 sedans are beautiful and of a stunning quality, but will not prove to be very accurate to the F80 M3. The F80 M3 has already shown (see spy photos) to have sportier grilles than the standard F30 3 Series seen in the render. It will not feature the 1M coupe style front bumper and mirrors shown here. The rear render features the 1M coupe style rear bumper diffuser, but F80 M3 spy photos show that this will not be the rear styling. The most telling aspect of the F80 M3 render is the preview of how aggressive the F80 will look from behind with its flared fenders. Spy photos have shown the M3 sedan test mules to feature very aggressively stretched wheel arches. F80 M3 Kidney Grilles F80 M3 Rear Bumper Shape F80 M3 Rear View Showing Aggressive Fenders |

The information presented here hints that the M4 will be a scaled down M6 coupe. I wonder if we should take styling cues from the M5 sedan as a guide for the future M3 sedan? Just what the new I6 engine will be like is on everybody's mind.

I am loving that F80 M3 sedan.
Unless it's a disappointment performance-wise, that's what we'll be planning to pick up (but only after at least a couple of years of it being out) Thanks for the renders and analysis.

Can we just stop with the silly naming monikers? It's a M3. BMW isn't going to risk their model and brand recognition by introducing something else to call what is a M3.

No hood scoop!!!! Man that's what makes the M3 stand out from the rest of the M cars and the normal 3 series besides the fenders bumpers exhaust brakes. The e46 m3 had a inline 6 and when I owned it. It seem that it didn't need the scoop to fit the engine but it look great.
I dont know I guess we have to wait and see maybe it'll look better with out it. Who knows.

Anyways the rear of the F80 looks super aggressive. Can't wait to see the finished product! I'm digging the M4 as well. Looks like the graphic has a cf front lip on it. Pretty sure BMW wouldn't make that stock but looks like a neat add on. |
