Update is: Kevin called me today and claims that his brother is the one who was supposed to ship out the wheels, and apparently the one who pulled this stunt. I have no idea whether to believe this, nor do I care. I never spoke with anyone other than Kevin and he's responsible.

Supposedly, Kevin shipped out the wheels today.
He sent me a picture of the wheels at the UPS store, along with two tracking numbers this time: one packages weighs 93lbs and the other weighing 104lbs.

I pray to God that the wheels were wrapped up well and don't arrive destroyed.

No problem. Stunt or no stunt, I would be livid in your situation. Sending you those BS clamps was the icing on the cake for me. If your wheels don’t get there or there are issues with this clown let me know. I have all of his info at the click of a few buttons. His addresses are close to the store from where he shipped the wheels from.

Thanks guys! I catch murderers for a living so I have access to information most people don’t know exists. With that said, I couldn’t help but feel terrible for the OP. He did absolutely nothing wrong and is even cordial in his post with his dealings with the scammer. I’ll gladly help him out to get his money back.

While this looks to have a happy ending, I think all should chill on the threats and offering to contact his employer. If the wheels show up safe and sound, call off the hounds and try to accept that weird ass excuse about his brother. It doesn't make any sense to me either, but weird crap happens (especially these days), so if the wheels show up safe and sound please think twice about trying to wreck the guy's career if we don't know all the facts.

As well thanks to the power of the internet, if that's not the real guy in the linkedin post above, that will probably start showing up when people search for that guy and could irreparably harm someone completely uninvolved. If he's not associated with this at all that would really, really suck and be grossly unfair.

Honestly, you aren't in a position to be demanding of anything right now. I am already dealing a lot with my private life, and I would please ask everyone to stop calling and threatening me (This is actually scary and immature and it may just be the lurkers on the forums).
