Just sold mine on 7/1/21
Small Mom and Pop Dealership beat Carmax's offer by 1k. Got 56k.
2018 M3 Mineral Gray with 38k Miles
ZCP, Executive, DCT
Had front corner bumper damaged needed to be replaced.
Kinda drove the car to the ground :^)

Bumping this discussion - the prices here on the forum in for sale by owner boards … WOW - so many cars starting with 7s and 6s and even a few 8s. Is anyone getting or as a buyer paying that? Not complaining as an F80 owner, looking for recent sale price data vs asking.

Glad I'm not looking to buy in the market right now that's for sure.

That's strong. Dealer will have to sell for $63k or more to make margins.

Gonna be lots of people with regret once the market corrects that's for sure. Not the people that sold though..

If we have another shutdown this fall, used car prices will remain high IMO.

I doubt the US will have another shutdown. Possibly could need one but I doubt it will happen.

US doesn't really control this tho.. Only 2 companies in the world make the semiconductors needed to fully reopen the supply chain.. neither in the US. We need those "new" factories the US is building to come online.

Used car crash

I foresee a huge crash in a few years when used car values return to normal. People wanting to sell or trade-in will be massively upside down and either have to pay out of pocket or absorb the difference in a new loan. If you don't need to sell your lovely F80/F82 now, don't. Even though you will make a profit, if you have to buy another car, you will take a beating now and in the future.

I have a 2015 F80 BSM 6SPD with 47K miles. It's bare bones with almost no options, but well maintained, great condition, and with new brakes and tires done by BMW. What do you think I could sell it for in this market?

Its a 6 speed so that's already a good start. I would estimate your vehicle in
great condition between 42-45k.

Just my Opinion.

debating on listing mine. I see some pretty strong asks on Autotrader... loaded 2015-2016 cars listed for 50k.

but then i check auction sites like cars and bids and the selling price doesn't seem too strong: https://carsandbids.com/auctions/9adNNxBX/2015-bmw-m3

wondering if private sales right now are a waste of time and you'd just be better off trading in and having them price match vroom/carvana.

Less than 9k miles.

asking $70k and still claims to be 2200 below KBB. Prices are ridiculous right now.

Is $61k for a 2018 F80 M3 ZCP with ~20k miles a horrible deal?

I bought my 2018 M4 ZCP with 9800 miles on it last month for 61.5. See if they can come down a little bit.

Wow! That's one heck of a deal. Congrats on the purchase. Will you be purchasing an extended warranty?

Also, what would you say is a reasonable amount then? $59k?

Thanks! I probably won't buy an extended warranty as I plan on modifying and tuning it next summer once the warranty is out.

For your deal, offer them 59 and if you can get it for 60 I think you did ok.

14k miles - Carvana and Vroom both offered me significantly less. Carvana only offered 55k and Vroom offered 57k. Not sure why exactly - could be the human appraiser element at Carmax. The guy doing it was impressed - I didn't have to talk it up at all - he was doing all that!
