Rough startup

Lately I’ve noticed that maybe 1 in every 5-6 start ups the car seems to grunt a bit before it starts. Almost like in the winter when it’s really cold. Then briefly last week I had a CEL light come on for only a day before it went away again. Other than that, no other negative symptoms with the car. The light went away before I could get the code read. Any ideas?

By the signs and symptoms you mentioned, it looks like you probably ran E85 using JB4 with cheap intakes like BMS or VRSF and never bothered to gap the plugs or replace the plugs.

Have you checked for error codes with an OBDII code reader? That's what any dealership or independent repair shop would do, and it's the only way to determine the root cause.

Car is not stock. Have not put e85 in it yet. Currently just jb4 and intakes.

This sounds like the Intakes. I had that happen to me with the Injen Intakes. It can also be your Spark plugs starting to give out. Either way let us know how you make out.
