I used to be like that, but during a European Vacation, when I see these wagons I really started to appreciate them, now I literally lust after them, so do many car enthusiasts. In fact, I would say the German makers are completely missing the mark on high performance minded-wagons. After owning a lot of different cars, I also appreciate practicality. A manual transmission, fun to drive wagon, that is a sleeper, and can haul a lot of stuff is the perfect car for me.

It's literally the frame/body of a wagon with every other piece from an M3 CS. If anything it's more CS than 316D. Don't be such a hater.

The Outback is considered more of a crossover but it's just a wagon with a higher ride height (4 inches or so over the Legacy).

There's a stigma in the US with the word 'wagon' - I saw the UK posters with 'hearse' instead of estate... that's half of the issue here.
All good points. My entire town is FLOODED with Subaru Foresters and Outbacks. America also has a massive mini-van market which doesn't exist in most of the rest of the world. Mini-vans eat into a lot of the wagon market too.

Fingers crossed! Isn't the new Audi RS6 Wagon coming to the states? I may have to jump ship, boys...

Without a CF roof? Seriously? Does that mean you don't have a "real M3" if you ordered it with a moonroof?! Get a grip.

I think he was referring to the fact that the CS ONLY comes with a carbon fiber roof.

None of the 5 F81 M3 Tourings that have been built have a carbon roof panel.
Likely because the touring model encourages the use of roof racks.

With so many people saying they would buy one it is strange that they don't make one.
The 12 people that say this on Bimmerpost does not make financial sense to Bmw.

I'm a huge fan of this build and wagons in general. Really wish BMW did this. I love that the RS6 is coming here but that price tag is a little husky for me.
