Cracked knuckle?

Who has a cracked knuckle on their front suspension? You might have a cracked knuckle and don't even know about it. It's been two months I'm waiting on BMW to fix this issue, and the parts are backordered. Please let me know, and check for your safety. Thanks.

- I know someone else who has the same issue

I've been talking to another owner about this. This is actually troublesome to had found out myself that there are currently 128 left carriers (31-21-2-289-301) and 135 right carriers (31-21-2-289-302) that are on backordered.

If you call your dealership's parts department, they can verify this.

I called BMW NA customer relations telling them that this is an alarming amount of backorders, and sounds like its a pending recall - but they did not allow me to open a investigation claim and simply said, I would be notified if such recall is made public.

Of that many that are on backorder, the question is, are there that many owners awaiting for parts? or is BMW trying to produce them as a surplus?

I'm sure BMW will say it's normal the part broke like everything else on my GTS. They are like parrots.

These will NOT be on shelf and will take a long time to produce. They also have race teams that require their workmanship

I'm actually genuinely concerned too.. I honestly hope more people step forward to gain some traction on this forum. Maybe BMW will consider a recall

What are the symptoms (clunking?) and is this GTS specific?

I personally don't have the problem, i was just informed that this might be an issue and that I should inspect it.

I agree the Nhtsa should receive individual reports from each owner.
