Hard to say. I feel it comes down to practicality, really. Won't really lose out on performance with either. Do you want 2 doors or 4 lol

I’ve had 2 M3’s and now an M4, and I love being back in a coupe. The whole feel from a 2 door is just nicer. Even though they drive the same. You can’t shake the feeling your in a saloon car.

I also feel that the M3 now looks a little dated, as it’s quite boxy. The arches are sexy as hell though.

I agree. Weekend car does not need to be functional, more for style. Would go for M4 as a weekend toy. But I daily drive my M4

You'll be happy with either one. They're both gorgeous, and there is zero performance difference between the two. I recommend finding the best combination of features for a given price point, and then pulling the trigger. Happy Hunting.

Weekend car is usually a coupe. However I think the M4 looks like a 440i at times. The M3 looks better imo. I personally don’t like coupes either so for me it’s simple. M3 w a 6mt.

OP should try searching before posting. This has been discussed in other threads for the last four+ years. You're late to the party...

Give it some time everyone will conclude the M3 is the cooler car and more desirable...

E90 > E92. No debate.

F8X M3 > M4.

I think the m4 looks better. I'd go with the m4 if I didn't already have one.
Both are virtually the same though. It's up to you. Your money

Never before must be a sports car practically - a ferrari, a vette and a 911 is it not
Because of history, a real m always has to be a coupe

4series all the time

So you're saying that you did search, read everyone's opinion since the car was introduced, and that wasn't enough, you want new opinions from people who've just bought the car in the last six months? Or are you just too lazy to search?

I have both, a 2016 M4 and my wife has a 2018 M3 CP. I've compared both of them and have posted on this several times, which you would have seen if you weren't too lazy to search. Why should I waste my time giving my opinion again, when you apparently can't take any time to search? You see how that works? No one likes it when someone new shows up and starts asking questions that have been asked and answered many times before. Every forum I've ever been on has a Search function. Learn how to use it instead of bashing someone who's trying to educate you.

M3 all the way. In my life my weekends consist of shuttling my kiddos around and golfing.
And family stuff. M3 makes it easier for passengers to get in and out of. I also have an F150 supercrew I use for commuting and such and sometimes I just wanna drive something sportier around that’s practical to boot!

M4 for sure. 5 reasons

1. Looks sportier (imo at least)
2. That back seat is plenty big enough for 2 adults. I've gone on road trips with 4 people and they commented on how much more comfortable it was than they thought it would be.
3. Front door opening is bigger on the M4
4. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain the F80 is slightly lighter
5. 90% certain the trunk is also bigger
