Could use some advice
Now that I have a house and a garage to store not only my car, but a detailing kit, I was wondering if you guys/gals could pass some advice on products to use (for both the interior and the exterior).

Adam's is a great place to start, but their towels are a bit overpriced IMHO. You're much better off going to either MF Tech, or The Rag Co - most other places simply buy their towels in bulk and rebrand them.
Also, Autogeek has a nice breakdown of towel types, though you definitely won't need all of these. http://www.autogeek.net/mfchart.html

Get the basics first like a nice wash pad, shampoo, clay bar, foam gun, etc... I personally use Adam's products with a few other brands here and there. Depending on how much of a perfectionist you are will definitely effect what kinds of products you use. Some people dont care just as long as the car stays "clean". Others cant have a single chip or swirl. Check out some of the Adam's kits to give you an idea of the basics: http://adamspolishes.com/shop/kits/w...-cleaning.html if you do decide to pick some stuff up shoot me a PM and I may have a 15% coupon for you to use if they arent currently running a sale. Have a look at their youtube series/videos to learn the basics about detailing then branch out to something a bit more advanced if you desire. This isnt rocket science, can be therapeutic to some but can also be a nice dent in the wallet. |

Finally got around to ordering Adam's Essential's Detail Kit. Looking forward to spending some quality time with the cleaning kit and my car.

Here are the end results. Very happy with the products and plan on getting more to add to the inventory.

Another suggestion.. try not to overbuy any product, as :a little goes a long way" applies to almost any product.
I'd focus on getting these products: Primary focus is to do a full decontamination 1st. 2000 +/- Power washer, with MTM foam cannon. Adams Strip (or like product) Gyeon Iron Gyeon Prep Clay Bar/Mit of your liking with "lube" any detailing spray works. Gyeon Q2 Can Coat (or a proper sealant/wax you like). Gyeon Bathe Essence |

I would sort of agree with this statement, as I have seen some quality issues with their products as of late; this has become more common since they got contracted with basically every auto store, and Walmart's to stock their products. They're all about quantity, not quality these days.
Not to mention they make it difficult for the novice to purchase.. for instance - why the hell does CG have around 8 detailing sprays.. I have them all... they only look and smell different, when the results are all the same! |
