Time Vs. Actual mileage

Re: 2017 ZCP - Stock (+-) 9500 miles [4 or 5 Track Days]

Help me out here.

* 1650 - Break in Service - Oil Change
* 6500 - Oil Change & BMC Air Filters
* 8000 - Brake Fluid - Swapped out stock Brake Lines for Stop Tech SS
(Didn't feel much of a difference)

I plan on doing another oil change at 10 or 11K.

Are my service intervals correct?

Considering the time should I also replace the Spark Plugs (NGK-97506?)
with this oil change? The car is now older than 36 months.

Please advise.

Supposed to do an oil change at least annually. On the third oil change you should do the spark plugs.

Honestly, if you are using a decent synthetic oil, time is less of a factor than mileage assuming you run the engine at operating temp once a month to burn off moisture and you dont have contamination from fuel or air filtration. Oil analysis of 1 year old used oil showed no difference to younger used oil with the same mileage(good running engine). Viscosity and TBN was still good to use for another year.

I've had 18 month oil(i was working overseas) with 3500 miles and 4 track days analyzed. They said the viscosity was still good and there was still enough antiwear to try another 2000 miles. I dont put many miles on my cars annually. Most mileage on one car is around 3-4K miles a year.

I change my oil annually anyways because i can DIY and its cheap. Cost me around $30 for oil and filter when there are rebates.

For sparkplugs, I usually check the condition of them and form a service interval off of it. I havent done it with the F80 yet. Will probably start off with 3 year interval and see what they look like after. I probably wont do more than 7K miles in that 3 year span tho.

Either way, you cant go wrong with changing/replacing things early. Cheap insurance.
