But sometimes i see a 4 series when i drive to work and each time i think...wow this is a big car, looks way bigger than a E92 and when i have a side view of it the angle of the cabin and hood...looks like there is something wrong ...the change of the angle of the hood and cabin looks like it's way to strong..hood jumps to strong down, actualy it's hard to explain ,but the change of this angle i realy don't like
I strongly agree.

That tan interior actually looks OK, it has a hint of orange/saddle in those pictures which I like.

And to those complaining about proportions, these are very up close pics. You can take a picture of any car up close and the proportions will be all off. Take a picture of the E92 up close and it looks like one big blob, while the E90 has upright, slightly "dorky," proportions when taken up close.

The M3 version looks so much better.

PS - I still like the E46 more vs the M4.

Wow things that I cannot get out my head due to thread now.

Front end to busy - Check

Rear end Hyundai Geneses - Check

Side vent to small - Check

It's like the design team didn't think outside box at all at just slapped old ideas that worked on new body. Very disappointing for what I've come to expect from ///M division

the new Z is going to smoke anything with a M badge. not to mention look insanely aggressive.

of course Ms will have more luxury and classy appeal to them.

the Z should cost more than a M4 also.
That's very true but honestly I don't think I can let go of a precious V8 and go to an inline 6.. I need that roar from a car

I see some Twin Turbo V8 Swaps from the M5/M6 into the F8X M. You know it's coming.

It is very interesting how BMW changing the coupe name to an M4 is already starting to create rivalry within the brand i.e M3 vs. M4. It is so surprising to me how the majority of people on the forum seem to be praising the M3 and dis'ing the M4 yet; the E92 M3 far out-sold the E90 M3 for the past 7 years. I have a feeling that regardless of whatever people are saying now, the coupe (M4) will still probably outsell the sedan (M3). When it comes to M cars, it seems to me that the majority of buyers want a coupe... Just my speculation.

Mine as well. I had an E90 M3 back in '08-'10 and I loved the looks of it compared to the E92...

Outselling also means less exclusive

I was thinking ES 300 or 350 or whatever that Lexus number is for the back third. Patiently waiting for M2.

Does it though?

Visually speaking, it's always been flared fenders, front/rear/side body work, ride height, and wheels (except the E36 which lacked the fenders I believe). Then the E9x added the CF roof, which the F8x continues with. Now we also get colored brake calipers too (for what it's worth), although you get those on the F3x MSport too.
You forgot about the the e9x M3 side gills. The 4 series and these new Ms have them. I agree the distinction is getting smaller.

You know I was just thinking that the fender screws up the whole side profile . This concept is exactly what I think the solution to all the problems that are on the OPs pictures. The hood bulge is more present, the side profile looks better, and the wheels seem to make it look better. It also seems as if the front bumper is slightly smoother, but could be lighting. Hood line still bother me though, but maybe a black or dark color solves it.

Edit: Forgot the CF roof! And the headlights! Way better on this concept!

Also, in regards to the engine and sound. I think it does not sound as good. So anyone saying that they wouldn't buy an M4 because of looks but still buy an M3 , will still have to hear the same engine sound. I start to wonder why BMW would prolong the sale of M3 V8 models with tons of special limited runs. I wonder if it was to supplement the engine swaps that are going to be needed to satisfy the petrol heads.

Will see.
I have E92 M3 and don't see myself getting the M4. Will likely get M3 in 2015, by then I guarantee you that we'll have a loong thread about "Who had E92 but now in M3?"
