Every Day Carry - How do you carry the key fob?
Looking for some ideas on how you carry around this brick of a key fob. I'm a minimalist when it comes to stuff I carry everyday. I keep my wallet as slim as possible... debit card, amex, drivers license, card to get into work and some cash clipped on to the back of the wallet. I never understand guys that walk around with wallets containing receipts from 2 years ago. I attached the fob to the money clip on the back of the wallet with a hair tie I stole from my wife, and I have an iPhone X. I'm so minimalist I seriously considered going back to an iPhone se. I have a smart lock, so no house keys and make the wife check the mail since I hate traditional keys.
This is probably as minimal as I can go but hoping for some ideas until a few years when I can get a g series m that should allow me to ditch the fob and use phone only. |

I just put it in my pocket. If I’m traveling for business I leave it in my laptop bag.

The FOB is not the problem, it's the wallet!
I have a card holder glued to cell phone. I carry only necessary cards/ID. So that replaces wallet and I will never have a wallet again! Small key chain for FOB and into the pocket. Thus, either two full pockets (phone/wallet and key fob) or just one full of you carry your phone in your hand. Only risk is if you lose/misplace your phone. |

I'm the same as you regarding being a minimalist... Never understood how people could carry around a wallet the size of a phone book or have 34 different clunky key chain items on their car keys.
On my fob is just one small ring loop with one key (house). On the back of my iphone I have a small stick on card wallet that I put my 4 cards in (ID included). It's nice being able to only carry your key and your phone, one for each pocket. |

I'm a minimalist too, I hate carrying keys. I just carry my key fob in my right front pocket. The only thing attached to that is the key ring that I got with my Euro Delivery, but sometimes I consider ditching that because it weighs at least as much as the fob, maybe more, but I'm afraid that I'd lose the fob without the extra heft. BMW is offering an optional keycard access for some new models that will allow you to open and start the vehicle.
I too have smart locks and no need to carry any keys. My wallet is the leather ///M wallet with a removable sleeve that has two clear id windows inside and slots for 3 credit cards on the outside, so I can just carry that I really want to be minimalist. But with payment systems on my phone, watch, and FitBit, and card storage apps on my phone, I don't even need to carry cards anymore. ///M Wallet: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...BoCAAwQAvD_BwE

There are vehicles now where you don’t even need a key fob (use mobile phone) and if you are paranoid, can keep a credit card form factor key in your wallet
But yes, Op’s pic is identical to my setup. House key separate from car key is critical IMHO |

Alot of great ideas here... Seems like I might be able to get by without a wallet and use one of those phone pockets too. Come to think about it I don't need my debit card to withdraw cash as the app does that now and my work access card can go in my laptop bag. I can probably get by with just my id and credit card.
So I might just end up getting a tile keychain for the key fob |

I do same type of setup. Fob goes in right pocket and thin wallet sits right in top of it. Then phone in left pocket or in my hand as I don't like it being close to my nuts for extended periods.

In my left pocket, next to my flip-phone.

This stays in one of my pockets. The key fob in the other pocket.
https://www.ridgewallet.com/?gclid=E...SAAEgL1TPD_BwE I don't bring my house key. I use the car's homelink to open my garage. |
