Wink BMW M3 F80 1:18 scale

Hey guys,

if you're looking for a 1:18 scale model of a YMB F80 watch out here:

http://gts-models.com/en/gt055/74-bmw-m3-f80.html

It's perfectly detailed and in very good quality.

They do have other BMW models as you see...

Regards from Germany

Actually, it is not detailed at all for a 1:18 model. No opening doors, hood, trunk lid. No engine detail. Pretty bad for this size and price.

It does have the proper 19" wheels which some of the other 1:18 don't have.

Just got a new garage buddy to join the F80. Was none too pleased to learn that the RS6 (GT Spirit) doesn't have functional doors or wheels.

The GT's are a resin right? Not metal? Hows the weight and feel?

GT Spirit are resin. They feel very substantial actually. For comparison, I've got two E82 1:18 models - GT Spirit and Kyosho - and the resin GT Spirit example weight noticeably more than the die-cast Kyosho car with opening doors and stuff. I'm satisfied with the quality and realness as well.

Their M4 CS model, however, looks all wonky in the rear.

I've got also the dealer F80 from Norev.

I have the Norev as well. Very high quality and solid. How does the GT compare to that one?

See attached pic. GT Spirit usually has good exterior details like the lights or wheels, which are subpar on the Norev F80. Neither are perfect, I think Norev has nailed the overall proportions better but the GT S wins in the details department. They didn't even bother with the CF bow on the F80.

I like to nitpick so will say the LED brows on the 1M should not bend downward, lol.

With a lot of die-cast models, opening panels can be misaligned or have big panel gaps; resin models look better as the shut lines are way more consistent. I keep the models closed anyway.

Nothing comes close to early 2010s AutoART quality, though. I have their E9 CSL and that thing has got rubber hoses and metal brake ducts on the underside, even. Very hard to find such craftsmanship nowadays for a reasonable price.

Much heavier/more substantial as the Norev (my F80) and I think that some of the design details were really precise but overall I hate that I can't open the doors, turn the wheels etc.

Thanks for the detailed impression! It's a shame they don't make the M3 CS in Lime Rock Grey
