While XP12s stopped great, a little disappointed with how long they lasted. XP12s upfront lasted exactly 2 weekends. There's about 3mm of pad left. For the money, would have hoped they lasted at least one more weekend.

XP10s in the back have a ton of pad left. Not sure if it's because XP10s last longer, or cause rear brakes dont get as much use, or combination of the two.

Also, got rid of 1521s, just can't stand the squaeling anymore. Went back to OEM pads and there's ZERO noise without any kind of brake goop. I think advertising 1521s as street compound, they should seriously look into the squealing issue.

good feedback. after a hard 2 days on road atlanta my front xp10's have plenty of compound left. i would say at 80% minimum. not bad at all. the xp10's i have managed to make them not sequel too bad on street too. its no worse than motorsport pagids on a gt3.

I hate you had to give up on the 1521s. I was hoping that would be my solution for a dust-less street pad. Still looking if someone has a good suggestion.

Sorry the 1521s didn't end up working out, I wonder why the squealing didn't go away?

They work great for me, plenty of bite, very low dust, and quiet.

Interesting. Glad to hear someone gets good results with them. No idea why mine did not quit, perhaps just bad set.

Good find, it seems the M-Performance pads are out for the F8X.

Did you get a price quote (Canada)?

The insane part I do agree, that is BMW Canada for you, but I am sure it is cheaper for you US folks because we get taxed out of asses!

And a big THANKS on the avatar! lol

What about the Carbotech RP2? Do we have those for the M4 yet?
I had better life out of those than the Carbotech XP10
Carbotech considers it their endurance compound.
I used to swap between those on the track and the Bobcats (1521) for the street. Never a bed-in issue. Great combo to swap between.
Could also run down onto the rivets without issue.
I ran through about a dozen sets of XP8-Xp10-XP12 before landing up on the RP2... That was on a street car 911 and Corvette

FYI: the Pagid yellows have always worked well for me and last long. (I use yellows or Greens on my race car)

But I would recommend the XP10 or RP2 & Bobcat combo for a street car.

Not sure if the RP2 is available yet. However, I have used carbotech RP2 on several different racecars, along with many other pads. I can tell you that the pagid RS29 is very similar to RP2 in characteristics. Both are an endurance compound, wear well and have similar coefficient of friction, temperature characteristics etc. The RP2 is a little more abrasive on pads, and I feel the RS29 has slightly better modulation, especially on release.

The RS29 is definitely available. If you like RP2 you will also like this compound.

I haven't run anything apart from stock on the F82 yet

Head over to the E9x M3 or Porsche(rennlist) board and read all the positive feed backs.
I agree, PFC 08's are the best track pads I've ever run (used to run them on my 997.2 C2S). They bed easily, never pad deposited my rotors, had longevity, and then I never had issues swapping back and forth to my oem Porsche pads.

+2 on that.

Loved the PF08 on my E92

I tried the RSLs front and rear this last weekend at Spring Mountain. My M4 only had 3000 miles and the rotors looked great before installing them. Tried to bed them in gradually but never really succeeded. Brakes were very noisey on the street and on the track. At the track, after a couple of sessions, major judder set in but the car was slowing very well. Tried sanding the front rotors at the track but still had major judder. I talked to NorthStar MotorSports and Competion MotorSports who did some research on the RSL pads. Apparently the RSL is a ceramic pad where as the old RS29 and the OEM pads are organic based pads. My rotors showed major blotching which explains the judder. I was told that NASCAR teams use a couple of companies that actually bed the RSL pads to individual specific rotors on a machine, then send the packages out to the teams using this service. That is apparently how difficult these pads can be to bed in properly. So good luck with the RSLs and if you do get them to work well, be sure to find a compatible street pad if you're going to swap out for the street.

with steels its pretty much RS29 if going pagid. tried and true. PFC 01's are my personal favorite but have not tried them on the M4 yet. the carbotechs held up nicely but by far the most squeely pads i ever had on a car. most definitely only liveable on the track where they hold up quite well.

Are pfc01 even available for the F8X yet? I have been waiting for these myself.
