Second question: Is the pipe diameter smaller than the existing secondary cats? Or does the entire system hang any lower than stock setup?
My reason behind asking is that my secondary cats scrape on my steep ass driveway. Besides the sound/performance improvements, a more compact setup that wouldn’t scrape would be my aim. |

Currently experiencing drone at low rpms and chattering. Will bring it back to the shop for adjustments. It also pushed my muffler out 1-2 inches causing my exhaust tips to really extend out. Followed the guide for the Active Autowerke version.

If cold you may need to trim the connecting pipes half an inch or so.

No rattles. vibrations on idle are also VERY, VERY minimal. I'm shocked - to be honest. When i got my first catless downpipes (no brace or flex joints, i noticed vibrations). Took those off and got AA - everything was great. So far, i give this product a 9.75/10. TO BE CLEAR: Only reason. I don't give it a 10/10 is because the smell WHICH IS WARRANTED because there are no cats on the car. I had daily driven an e46 m3 and an e92 335i with no cats for years and smell didn't bother me (but that's probably because i got so used to it). I'm extremely shocked by your quality/price point as i'm one of those snobs that always purchases the expensive, high-end equipment. I'd 100% recommend this midpipe to everyone. Very impressive from a new-entrant/price point. Other brands in your price range (no names mentioned) have some competition now… Good luck, MAD! Excited to see you guys keep chipping away at the market!

First install, major rattle at 900 rpm’s. Determined it was hitting the middle brace. Readjusted with more clearance along with trimming an additional 0.5”, now only rattles during cold start, goes away when warm. Any suggestions? The rattle is still hitting the mid brace I believe. Is it viable to add washers to the brace to drop it?

You shouldn't need to add any washers to our brace.. I suggest loosening everything up and push the mid pipe higher than it should be then tighten it down that way when it sags a little it sits where it should. Let me know if this helps.

What do you suggest to "drop it" or make the exhaust tips not hit the diffuser? I can't tell if it's already been scratched or melted, but hoping to minimize and future damage/issues.

Did this just happen suddenly or has it been like that since install ? If it's pushing your exhuast back and up the length is slightly to long. You will need to trim your rear connecting pipes around 1 inch or so.

Understood. The length like I described above is most likely whats causing your issue.

I think I found the problem. The shop mechanic did not install the MAD provided brace...sigh have to go back. Will update on the progress. Hopefully the rattle goes away.

Here's a before and after install pic. I don't think it's normal (not blaming the midpipe, but rather my installation.)

So we leave a little extra length on the two rear connecting pipes because some aftermarket exhausts require it and it's much harder to add length than remove it. Oddly some stock exhaust customers getaway without cutting while others do not.
