nope, the fast suv thing got me for my next daily
there's just something about sidewall and travel that is making more sense lately as these sport sedans continue to be plagued by the nurburgring cancer |

I was going to post the typical "Yes" and that's it. But I saw a comment about Margo Robbie and had to go back and read the previous page. She is DELICIOUS

Keeping
Yes, as far as I know; I plan to keep my F82 but you never know what life throws at you. Just recently, I almost wanted to sell it but believe it or not; the wife talked me out of it. If I could, I would love to buy a 2013 M3 (clean, low miles) and keep my M4 once its paid off.

My CS has serious long term potential but I like the idea of the new 4.0 Cayman GTS coming out soon.

I've been all over the place with this. I usually get bored of my car in 3 years and then look for something new. But after just crossing the 3 year mark, I'm having a hard time letting my M3 go this time around.
After fixing the exhaust tone with my equal length system, I want to keep it. Still need to figure out the suspension. But if I was able to do the impossible and fix the exhaust, then I'm hopeful I'll find a suspension I like. I'll probably get bored and try B6 Damptronic eventually. MP HAS is good enough for now. Something about this car is different that makes me want to hold onto it. It's like the realistic reliable alternative to a MkIV Supra or R33 GT-R I always wanted. I'm excited to find out just how perfect I can make it for myself. |

Planning on keeping it for at least the next 100k miles
Unless a good deal on an M3 CS pops up in the next few years... that’s literally the only car I’d probably trade up for

I just swapped my KW HAS for a set of KW V3's. It totally changes this car. I haven't had the chance to really see what it can do because it's still winter over here and I have my winter wheels and tires on. But in a few months, I'll really be able to see the difference.

MP HAS + Stock EDC shocks. It's great, but not perfect.
Went from stock -> Macht Schnell springs -> Bilstein B16 Damptronic -> MP HAS. I think B6 Damptronic + Eibach V2 is the winning combo for me, but I couldn't get them before, and I'm a little tired of paying for suspension work until I know for sure I'm going to like it. B16D was very good, but too stiff for me. I miss the beefier shocks though...my car would hook like hell with no TC intervention. But I was sick of my voice trembling while talking and head bobbling around from how bumpy it was. And passive suspension isn't an option for me. I ordered my car with EDC so I could use it, and don't want to remove that feature. |

If I didn't drive so many miles, I'd keep my F80 M3 for much longer. I love the thing. It's not perfect but it just looks delicious, is quick, kids are comfortable in the back, and can play commuter car just as well. I just don't feel like trying to sell a 6 year old, 100k mile M car so may need to sell it while I can still fetch some money. As far as I'm concerned whatever I end up with will not be a direct replacement to the F80.

I went from CS dampening with ZCP springs to KW CS 3 ways to CS + SWIFT springs to Bilstein damptronic. did all the work myself.
summary: - CS with ZCP springs(very good but front too high and doesnt turn in very well) - KW 3 way (awesome on track, absolutely undriveable on street - now I see why M4GTS cars dont sell and have plummeted in value) - CS + Swift (not bad but the stock shocks cant handle such short travel, also the springs lower the car much more than advertised) - B16DT (I call it smooth and stiff, its very capable but as someone on this thread has mentioned its pretty stiff. I'm waiting for the system to break in to pass final judgement) what does this all mean and what have I learned: -the f80 chassis is incredibly stiff -having the rear subframe bolted to the chassis amplifies every noise vibration when you start to change (stiffen) the rear suspension -nothing will ever fix the front end dead steering feel.(zero feedback) -its impossible to find the perfect street/track setup for this car without some kind of compromise |

I'm keeping mine:
Nothing else ticks all the boxes and, in particular, there are not many cars that I really want. The only thing I'd spend real money to add to the stable is a V10 R8 manual. If I didn't get a manual transmission, I would go electric for sure.

Isn't that stating the obvious for any car ?

I'm kind of over my m4 after owning it for 3.5 years but stage 2 e85 it is really quick. I don't know what other car can beat it in terms of speed at a similar price point and I'd like to get into something just as fast if not faster. I don't daily my m4 anymore so a less practical car can do.

I think we all have the car bug, I’m thinking of moving to a GT4. My M4 is just shy of 50k miles, but then I go drive it and it is so dialed in from stock, and I wonder if I am ready to head down that path with another car. Also the 3 sets of spare wheels for the M4, I had planned on keeping this one a while.
