At the start of the year 2020, I would have not believed if someone would have told me that I would end up owing 2 x F82s. Well, it was meant to be.
Decided to move on from my F32 440i to become a proud first time M owner. In July 2020, bought my first and most favorite M car - F82 M4 Comp in Black Sapphire. After a very brief stint with the car and just 4000kms, unfortunately, met with an accident in December 2020 and most fortunately, the car was deemed a total loss. Was quite devastated as I bought it as a keeper. Thanks to my insurance policy coverage, I was entitled for a new for old replacement. So, here I was in the market again to find an F82 when the G82 is just around the corner. Called up my local dealer and he said there wasn't any left and the same response from other dealers in my state. So, I decided to literally call up every single dealer here in the country and as luck / fate would have it, managed to track down the very LAST new F82. My insurance company although, could not find this car and were ready to offer me the new G82 instead (would you believe it!!!). Some of you may think it was a dumb move, but I really wanted a new F82 and nothing else. So, gave the insurance the dealer details of where the car is and to get me that instead. Icing on the cake happened to the be the colour. The sales rep said it was a special paint and the car is yet to arrive at the dealership from the port. He also mentioned, this might very well be the only F82 in the country and probably the whole world in this colour!!! This got me really excited and as destiny might have it, the colour was Hockenheim Silver, a colour that I have admired on the M2C and wondered why they weren't on other M cars yet. (Correct me if I am wrong about the part where this is the only F82/80/83 in HS). Nothing is 100% perfect and as it turns out, the A/C didn't work from the get go, just hissing at me and the iDrive system had a blue screen coming up quite often. Disspointed with the interstate dealer as they didnt pick this up during PDI (if they did one). So, I have to wait out this week while my local dealer fixes it before I get to drive my dream car of all times, again! I will also miss the Silverstone White interior and CF trim as the new car is Black Merino Interior with Piano Black trims. Well, I chose to stick with the F82. What would you have done in my situation? (F82 or G82). Let me know....Thanks for reading if you managed this far... |

First time seeing HS on an M3 or M4. BMW were pushing Individual M4s in 2019/2020 out a lot, but this very well maybe a one-off, tbh. Paging SickFinga
And you've made the right choice. New old stock is way cooler than whatever the coolest thing is right now; you've got essentially 6+ years to buy the next generation brand new. Hope you get it all sorted out. Congrats.

I think you made the right choice! I love HS, it's such a cool color that changes with the lighting. That looks great on an M4.
You can always swap out the trim to CF too if it bothers you. I did that because mine came optioned with the Anthracite wood trim and I hated it. Takes 5 minutes to swap everything once you get the pieces.

Thats a real cool and unique color for a M4, never saw this before.
Enjoy your ride and be careful not to shred this Baby like the black one.

Very cool, I find the colour unique. Its not immediately reminding me of other silver M4s.
Do you plan on getting a rear diffuser? The body coloured piece is my all time pet peeve on M cars. Anyways congrats

Never seen a HS on a F80/F82, nice pick-up, congrats! I'd try to pull the carbon trim from the totaled car. And maybe the seats and door panels if you can swing it. That way you still have a piece of her in your new ride.

Just swap your piano black for the CF. Takes 5 minutes to swap.

HS is my favorite M color. And I think the black interior goes well to offset the light exterior color.
Silverstone is my favorite interior color too, but only on a car with dark exterior. Fate and Karma have been good to you! Congrats and enjoy. It's beautiful. |
