The rest of the car doesn't look too bad

The front end though, shivers. So ugly

It looks futuristic and stands out. I like it and think this will do well.

I may have missed it, but how big is this? Trying to figure out from the photos if it's a big i3 or a small X5.

I believe BMW said "length of an X5, height of an X6, wheels of an X7," so pretty much mid-sized.

That would be "Lexus". It looks "inspired" by the c-pillar on a RX. (Which looks stupid on the RX and more stupid here.)

That said, aside from this... I don't *hate* it... and if it had compelling mileage....

What's weird is we still have no "official" specifications for the iX, only projected ranges of horsepower, 0-60, milage, etc. No clear information of even colors or options still.

Looks good. Color does not contrast with the blacks bits. All of the proportions are correct unlike the g80. Going to wait a few years till after all of the bugs are out.

BMW is way better than Nissan

About time BMW finally released a SAV EV.

But man, those fake butterfly grills look like stickers.

BMW's Exterior Design Team needs a serious re-boot!

Me OTOH, I despised them as soon as I drove the first Model S and whenever I've ridden in them since b/c the crappy leather, poor quality build, etc. appeared to be worse than that found in Acura and Honda products and was not acceptable to me for a $70K car let alone a $100K+ car.

With that said, Tesla does have 2 major advantages - their much larger supercharger network and generally higher driving range vs. EVs for traditional car mfgs.
You hit the nail on the head, but Acura and Honda do have some high quality materials. I have a 2013 Model S as a commuter due to free unlimited supercharging for life, but multiple panels don't line up, weather stripping does fit and the leather is horrible.
We just picked a 2020 Model Y long range and it is HORRIBLE. Brand new car was received with overspray all over, paint drips under the clear coat, paint chips, loose bolts all over the car and plasticky leather. Even the seat covers are coming off the actual seat.
It is the tech, charger network and the cool factor that people are after and they overlook the quality.

So sad and this is not an isolated opinion you are stating very clear facts

That's the main reason I am fearful of ever buying or leasing any Tesla

I think the problem was that some people have expressed this “strong opinion” over and over again, and on every single G80 thread (not saying you did). There are people here who have the same “strong opinion” about ANY new BMW. At some point it becomes very annoying.

Well I do understand your very logical point

When you give somebody a warning it gives them a heads up

But when you BAN them without explanation and won't reply to a PM as a moderator

Well it not only kills the sense of community it also certainly makes you not want to ever consider buying one

This forum is independent of BMW. So you can't blame BMW for what happens on this forum.

I understand the problem but just I also think that some people with “strong opinions” about BMW might scare away potential first time BMW buyers who are naive enough to trust the opinion of some of the self-proclaimed car enthusiasts on this forum.

Still they should be warning their core members not alienating them

To me I think that's got a much larger domino effect

Also all the aftermarket vendors, who also happen to be the bimmerpost sponsors, are not exactly happy over all the random dudes with “strong opinions” because it negatively impacts their business. The sponsors should have every right to decide who posts here and who doesn’t.
