Apple IOS 12.2 fixed CarPlay Issues

Hey everyone,
Probably like many of you, I gave up trying to use Apple CarPlay with my '18 F80 M3. Disconnected all the time, could not have business calls with any consistency. Have been using Bluetooth only mode for the past month.

Last night I updated my iPhone X to the latest IOS 12.2.
I figured I'd give CarPlay a try again. What have I got to lose?

The good news is that CarPlay has been stable all day. I had numerous conference calls and the calls were perfect. Using Amazon Music and Waze has been perfect as well. Drove around here and there for about 3 hours total today. CarPlay has been fantastic! I'm happy again.

I urge anyone having issues with CarPlay or that gave up on CarPlay to upgrade to IOS 12.2. Remove your Bluetooth pairing from your car and your phone. Then pair again and try CarPlay.

Thanks for the heads up - I ended up returning my Iphone XS Max because of the same issues.

12.2 fixed my issues also, carplay was unusubale for me until the update

I still have issues with CarPlay crashing on 12.2.

I'm taking my car in to the dealer for them to update the I-Drive system. Hopefully it will resolve itself then.

For what it's worth I've never had any carplay issues from 12.0 up.

the only issue i ever had was the lack of any alerts for incoming texts.. has that been addressed?

Same here, it looks like the wifi antenna needs to be replaced in my car thats whats causing car play to crash since its uses a wifi signal to connect. i spoke to BMW and they were clueless about the issue so i went another route and spoke to someone thats does coding and he was experiencing the same issue in another M3 he ended up replacing the wifi antenna and it worked like a charm.

Does yours fully crash or does music get interrupted? I'm still having skipping issues every once in a while even on the latest istep.
