It didn't, but if you read my post I explained it, you've edited the important bits in your reply for some reason.
Fleet sales (friend) sells car to retail customer (me), retail sales want to complete the deal and want to squeeze me for the service pack, fleet sales friend informs me it's already on the car, just say no as they can't remove it... If that makes it clearer..

If I'm doing 20k a year is it still good value then? I'd assume I'd get:-
1) RIS 1200 £260 2) 1sr Service around 18000 as lots motorway miles £400?? 3)Next service? Assuming it can happen before 36000 otherwise waste of money is that correct or did I miss one?

Stratstone Leeds. I quoted they were more expensive on the BMW app for their run in service quote than Sandal Wakefield. They did it for £182.00.

Yeah it doesn't look great value but if your driving pattern gives an earlier service mileage then it could work out.

Newbie to the forum but loving my new M4 CP. The Running In Service is due shortly but the cheapest I can find via the Connected app is £341 (Bowkers Preston) - this seems high based on the posts above? Anyone had it done any cheaper around the Preston area?

I ended up getting it for £320, prices seem to have risen quite a bit in last year or so.

Old Thread Rises From the Dead!!
Hello all,
I've been having the running in service cost saga for the last few days on a new M3 CS. From what I can gather, the service includes oil+filter, screen wash (lol) and then a final drive oil change. I'm not sure if some of the super low prices quoted include the transmission oil, but it shouldn't push it up by such a ludicrous amount in any case. Here are my findings so far: Cooper BMW York - £444 was the starting price and I did speak to someone in the branch. She basically said that she might get a 10% discount if she asks parts. Sandal BMW Wakefield - £416 is the starting price and they were willing to negotiate, but did not call back and have not called back after I chased them, so no idea what this might end up at yet. This still feels like my best chance. Stratstone Leeds - this one goes to a booking line and they quote £426 firm, don't seem to want to budge Stratstone Harrogate - this one goes to the same booking line as Leeds and the quote is £426 firm as well Has anyone in the North actually managed to get a RECENT quote for less than around the £400 mark? It feels like the strategy these days is to remove all responsibility from the actual service departments and to use relatively faceless call centres to maintain the price point across the board - good from a BMW perspective. What happened to these "M Specialists" like Jake at Leeds who used to be able to work directly with customers etc? Regards Matt |

I been quoted £400 for run in service, what a rip off. Thing is the dealer didn’t mention anything about this new service plan when he sold the car to me. I did say to him I wanted the same type of deal like I had on the last M4 I got from them.Only find out all this when I turned up at another nearby dealership to me to get the run in service, they said no service pack on car and will have to pay for it and take out service plan as service pack is no more.

2020 update
First post and dragging up an old thread, but I found it useful so wanted to update having just had the running-in service on the M2C (so wrong forum too!)
I tried to view prices through the app with no success (worked with my old F30) and rang quite a few dealers before any of them got back to me with a price. I got quoted £297 from Peterborough and told would have to leave the car there all day, no courtesy car until November (no doubt made worse with the current situation). Leicester Sytner got back to me, initially at £360 (!) but I asked if they would match Peterborough, phoned me back 10 mins later offering £310 and could do it at the end of the week, 3 hour wait max. Took it in today to Leicester, hour and a half later done; £300. Could probably have saved £50 if I'd supplied own oil but didn't ask. Overall good experience. Can't be many F8X cars left to have RIS I guess but hopefully this might be useful for someone! |

Took mine to an independent BMW Specialist. Charged £163.56. The running in service included oil and filter change and rear diff oil change. Was updated on BMW database and in car, only thing not done was update on the car key. Was done whilst I waited, about an hour. All parts and consumables were OEM. Was sick of being ripped off at main dealer with my Audi.
