I'm a fitment freak so I searched and searched and got mine from Krasstechnik, literally perfect fitment. As far as these aftermarket ones go, it's a hit or miss. I'd recommend some of you to test fit one in person before rolling the dice.

That looks like oem fitment there. How much was this hood shipped? How much for paint? Is it CF like the oem GTS on the underside as well?

Is there an authorized dealer in the US? Can only find one seller on google and think they’re just a drop shipper.

Yup, the underhood is OEM pattern and I had the shop clear coat it as well to give off that shiny look. Looks better than OEM in my opinion.

Damn, this is unfortunate. I reached out directly to Krass Technik, looks like they don’t make this hood any more.

Damn.. looks like some people have collector status GTS hoods on their hands.

I've reached out to the companies listed in another thread on these hoods with no luck either. I guess I might have to go the iND route.

At least it'll be shipped to me painted. I really don't have a way to get this to a paint shop and back without borrowing a Home Depot truck or something lol.

JUST emailed them about availability and to see if they have a way of distributing or selling in the states.

It would be cool to get one of those so we all have a real-world example of what the build quality, and fit / finish are like.

Maybe i'll be that guinea pig 😎

Anyone had any experience with the Schirmer hood? I'd imagine that the fitment would be spot on given Schirmer's rep with BMWs

Avoid Suvneer's GTS. I bought the hood and fitment isn't OEM like they claim it is. Didn't test fit it prior because I assumed it would be decent but it's not.

*update: I got the hood adjusted again and now the fitment is really good. So suvneer hood worked out.

Fitment is pretty crap tbh, but that's what happens when you go cheap. Lesson learned. The body shop did a great job paint matching though.
Is this CF or aluminum? I have an aluminum GTS hood from 1NE that is most likely from the same factory (the 1NE and suvneer hood vents are identical) and it also has pretty crap fitment but what looks like the opposite issue in terms of the gap being too tight on the sides.

Yeah, it's the aluminum one. I figured they were all from the same factory so there was no point in paying $1200 or so for the 1NE aluminum compared to the $900 Suvneer one.

Yeah the gapping on the sides kill me. Considering going back to my stock hood but idk yet.

I think if you make some adjustments you can get it to fit pretty perfectly, there is always some play when it comes to aftermarket , i have never found a part that fits absolute 100% off the bat

Shop fitment is a big thing when it comes to aftermarket hoods IMO. A good shop should be able to get it within 95-99% there

Sounds like we both learned a lesson lol

FWIW the fitment doesn't look that bad from the pics and the paint looks great. My bodyshop had a ton of issues with the quality of the aluminum that made prep take a lot longer than it should have -_-

I spent a good 3 hours adjusting the folding latches(close to windshield), pushing in the fenders, hood catch etc. to get mine decent.

The first thing i see is the height of the driverside is high. The body shop should've lowered the folding latch to get it even with the fender...

This seems more like body shop not putting much effort to fitment vs the hood itself.

Now, if you want to talk about a bad hood, i have a 2M fiberglass hood. I had to remove material(2-3mm) from the sides of the hood to fit the shape of the fenders. Its also fiberglass so the surface is a little wavey. I also believe since its fiberglass heating from the engine bay has caused it to curve making it more narrower than it was when new. I also think whatever resin they used for the fiberglass has now become brittle and is breaking apart internally. I can hear the hood creak and crack if the hood is flexed too much. All said and done, i was able to make it look good. Used hood, OEM vent and paint supplies cost me a total of $700 DIYed

Gotcha, I'll find a body shop then that has experience with these GTS rep hoods. I think there is one here in OC that I'll reach out too. Thanks for the feedback!

You DIY painted your hood? That's an impressive DIY unless you work in autobody.

Thanks. Im just an enthusiast and like to do my own work. I've painted smaller stuff but nothing this big.

I think i only attempted this because it was during the covid lockdown. Im happy with how it all came out though.

Thanks to hc1001, I was able to contact a body shop that had experience with these GTS hoods.

If you guys are in the LA, Inland Empire or OC area, and need your rep hood adjusted, take it to ABS Auto Body.

I took mine this morning and my hood finally fits perfect, and now I'm able to sleep at night 😂.

Thanks again for everyone's help!
