Nope I use a place called midco tinting on 86th and Cicero in Chicago.. He does a great job and is super reasonably priced

It looks great! Ivan from LUSTR does awesome detail work and had lots of shielding Xpel work. He also does the treatments but with a warranty. My issue with Simon's shop is there is no warranty involved and the cost is the same. Right next door to LUSTR there is Umbra or whatever they're called and they have been doing tint for all the ///M guys for years. So if you can swing the trip to Shaumberg it's like a one stop shop.

Farthest I ever really go is to IND or when I go to the track. Just for my Eisenmann and love it

Agreed. LUSTR and Umbra did work on my M3. Really well done.

I've seen a Mineral White F82 outside Perillo and then the same car parked on Broadway/Diversey about 3/4 months ago. The only other M3/4 i've seen was an F80 SO/SO on West Irving Park.

Do most people live downtown? I live in Uptown (haha) so I probably don't see as many nice cars.

I just picked up my mineral white F80 last week, dropped it off to ZIMA Motorsports. They applied Xpel to the entire front end of my car and did the carbon fiber roof, they also installed my KW HAS. I spoke with Stephan, he was awesome to work with and I felt comfortable with them working on my car because they have had an F82 themselves, I recommend them and will be going back for the downpipes once I've broken the motor in.

Cool so there's a lot of us downtown! Should definitely get the F8xs together. Just saw another black M4 today. Young guy with winter wheels that looked like a FI sort of rim. Very cool for a winter set. Turning into Clark and Ontario

I live in burbs but work downtown. Took delivery of my M3 in September and did not see any others. Recently saw BSM M3 and MG M4 on Kennedy. In for a F8x get together.

Funny you ask, this morning I emailed most Xpel installers in the Chicagoland area and have been getting the following quotes. Myself and about 3 others are trying to select the same guy in order to get a group discount. Like you, one of the guys is taking delivery in a few weeks. Would you be up for going in on a group discount?

Quotes are for partial/full using Xpel Ultimate unless otherwise noted. They are also full price (no discount applied yet)

Design Shielding (suntek): $650/$1,295
Carmel Tint: $795/$1,795
Darring's: $995/$1,895

Nice! And thanks! When you guys going in on this? I'd be interested in a group buy. My M3 is awaiting assignment for a ship, so I'd imagine it's 4/5 weeks out still. Not if you guys could wait or I could put a deposit down for the group buy rate with whoever we go with.

Deposit should be fine, that's what the other guy waiting on delivery is doing.

Full does not mean full (entire) car. Full usually means full hood, full fenders, full bumper, and mirrors (maybe something else thrown is depending).

Most places don't even advertise entire car since most people don't do it. I did ask Design Shielding for the entire car and said it would be at least a 3 day project upwards of $4k-$5k

I could probably facilitate a deal with design shielding as he is a buddy of mine. He will be clearbra'ing my car when i get it.. awaiting shipping from my ED
