xHP Torque Punch/Torque Punch Ideal Settings

Hello, I currently have the xHP stage 3 flash on my m4 however i've noticed some of the updates such as torque punch and torque reduction.

I've heard that with the proper settings, you may not lose boost when upshifting at higher rpm's.

Is there a way to calculate the best possible settings for each selection?

Here's my recipe for XHP settings:

'18 M4 Comp Coupe, all stock except wheels and tires.
Bootmod3 Stage0 GTS tune (the free one)
XHP Stage3 v1.4 (applies to Stg 1&2 also)
-Torque Reduction ON, set to 400
-Torque Punch ON, set to 4
That's it.

The math:
M4 GTS tune yields 442 lb-ft of torque.
442 lb-ft converts to 600Nm.
2/3 of 600Nm equals 400Nm.
***Set the Torque Reduction slider to "400".

The XHP manual says you might increase TQ Punch when you reduce the TQ Reduction, so I went from 3 up to 4.

I feel no sponginess on either upshift or downshift in S1 through S3. The shift action is crisp, but I feel no kick on upshift. I might go try TQ Punch at 5 and 6 just to feel the difference.

XHP says to increase reduction and punch if you feel the spongy shift. I assume they’d want you to start at the default 500/5 settings. Torque punch is used to adjust fluid pressure on the clutches when shifting. I believe I ran into the issue that with 600/3 I was having the car fail the 1-2 shift on the drag strip from the extra load. Jimmy you should text me back and we can get some experiments done haha

Dude, just try what I said to do.

XHP responses are typically generic.

TopJimmy thanks for the tip! I think I finally found my ideal settings after months of messing around with BM3 and xHP.

BM3
1) Cary Jordan Stage 2 (flex fuel) on pump ACN 91. I took a break from full E85 to flush out the fuel system, so this was a great time to play with my settings on pump gas.
2) Torque reduction set to 30% in 1st, 20% in 2nd on ACN91. Torque reduction set to 40% in 1st and 30% in 2nd and 10% in 3rd on full E85.
3) Throttle desensitivity in Sport+ set to 9

xHP (same as TopJimmy)
1) Torque reduction to 450 based off of 500 wtq = 677nm x (2/3) = 446nm.
2) Torque punch set to 4
3) Custom shiftpoints, launch control, etc. from various people on here throughout the years.

Can anyone comment on if theres a noticeable difference from those who have had both? I too just use bm3’s solution but curious if xph could be worth it.

Had both. XHP is defiantly better than BM3 GTS flash. XHP is one of my favorite mods.

Similar to hello kitty as far as power but THE EXACT same settings in XHP. XHP is almost my favorite mod if it weren't for the Cary Jordan tune.

BM3
1) Cary Jordan Stage 1 (flex fuel) on pump 93. I finished my winter break from full E85 and am now back to full rolling smoke show mode.
2) Torque reduction = none. Burning up these tires as new tires will be ordered shortly.... once i make a decision
3) Haven't messed with throttle sensitivity but really really should.

xHP
1) Torque reduction to 450 based off of 500 wtq = 677nm x (2/3) = 446nm.
2) Torque punch set to 4

Sorry hellokitty basically copy and pasted your response but felt the need to reiterate how great XHP is with similarish power. Its scary smooth with no loss of power. I don't even hesitate to upshift mid turn on long opening sweepers on the limit and same with downshifts on tightening sweepers. The car never gets upset from a shift anymore regardless of the situation.
