As far as I know the only two oem options on a F82 comp are the standard wheel with grey inserts and the shadowline with gloss black inserts.

These are the shadow line

The face is diamond blade cut. The inner paint color is “Ferric Grey”

If there is damage to the metal face you will need a place that has a diamond wheel blade in order for it to look OEM. If just paint may be not necessary.

My understanding is they paint the entire wheel then cut the face then clear coat.

Assuming this can only be done 1 or 2 times before the integrity of the wheel is compromised?

There must be a finish on the outside, the aluminum is different color than the face

The face is just clear coated to show diamond cut alloy.

How ever you repair clear coat as long as you don’t need to fix the metal surface. If you look close you’ll see the groves of diamond cuts. Looks like a CD/DVD.

Yea. I did a spot repair on my G30 759 20 inch diamond cut wheel as it was only a small scuff in one area and I saw no point in getting the whole wheel done just for that.

See if you can spot it !!

Well spotted.

Strangely when I finnished it with the 5000 wet sanding it had an even brighter mirror finish that the original.

I then masked off the rest of the wheel and applied a think coat of clear lacquer to seal it.

It wasn’t perfect but I was happier to keep 95% of the wheel at the original finish.
