Right on. My '16 F80 does not have it, but I'm considering it for my CP order because I don't plan on having tint. Is the rear sunshade known to rattle or are you assuming it will after some track time?

Just assuming from sunshades in the past.

I didn't want sunshades or DA on my first order but they were included by accident. I took the car because the dealer didn't charge me for the options.

Gotcha! At least your dealer didn't charge you for the option. I feel like it should come standard with the Executive Package.

I don't see anything about the car being lower than a non ZCP either.

Ive got the rear sunshade and use it regularly. It is smooth and quiet, and after sliding around on the track several times (other places too), it is solid, with no rattles... much like the rest of the car.

It is more clearly mentioned in the Canadian product info:
I thought the front wheels were 19" like GTS?

Nonsense, I've already upgraded my bedplate to an aftermarket CFRP piece with OLED accents. It voided my warranty, but I know it is worth it every time I climb underneath the car, remove the underbody shielding, and can almost see it. I can also feel the slightly lighter front end every time I take a corner at 160mph.

GTS has 20's all around.

This is assuming BMW's graph in the PDF above is accurate.
Why?

Boost on the S55 is controlled through the wastegates and those are electronically controlled. So it is quite easy to increase boost over a given RPM window through a software change. We are no talking of a piggyback here. BMW have full access to their own DME and can program whatever they want.

The power increases on the S63Tu of 560hp->575hp->600hp were all done through software only and those increases are only on the top portion of the RPM band, just as with the S55.

Fundamentally, BMW did exactly what is needed to improve the performance of the S55. Maximum acceleration is achieved by keeping the RPM above 5500RPM anyhow, so to increase ultimate acceleration, power needs to increased in that range (5500-7300RPM). Increasing power below 5500rpm is not needed and would just exacerbate traction issues by increasing peak torque.
I'm with you here, don't think there's any engine hardware update, just software.

Hate to ask this but is the attachment in the original post down or is this a bimmerpost app issue? I don't see anything in the original post.

Nope. GTS has 19" in the front. Further, GTS wheels are also 0.5" wider than the CP front and rear.

Must be the App; just checked the first post and the attachment is there and I'm able to download it.

So if I have this right:

2015 - initial MY
2016 - M3 LCI, exhaust changed?
2016.25 - Dampers, bedplate, and who knows what else revised
2016.5 - ZCP option released
2016.75 - ?
2017 - ?

That is a LOT of changes for 1.5 model years. It really makes me think that this M iteration was only half-baked upon release (and I own one so I'm not a troll). BMW better make things right and enable some form of retrofit for these parts.

Exhaust was not changed for MY2016, it has the same part number as the 2015. Dont forget the replacement of the magnesium oil pan in 2015 (an example of a downgrade, where early F8X had a lighter part ).

Cars, as any other product, are continuously evolving. It was no different with previous generations of M3. Most changes go un-noticed to consumers.

Very true. But to me, these are game changing alterations that have come way sooner in the life cycle than we at accustomed to. I was an e9x M3 owner and hell, that car barely changed at all over its whole life. Even the ZCP didn't come out until the fourth model year (2011).

Again, if they really do come out with these retrofits, than that would assuage my concerns somewhat. But I'm still skeptical.

What about S65 the rod bearing clearance change? Throttle actuator upgrade? Multiple iDrive changes? Introduction of M-Drive without iDrive? I can keep going on.

CP was introduced in 2010 on the E9X IIRC, so 3rd model year for us North Americans.

I don't believe the bedplate will end-up being a "major" change (until we learn more about what was actually changed). It probably slipped in that PR material by mistake and would have gone otherwise unnoticed.

The E36 M3 had an entirely different engine in its second year! I think there's some revisionist history going on in this thread.

Yah, offer us retrofits so BMW can make even more money. That'll show them and make it right.
