On the back of the trim piece there's two connectors you should remove to give yourself ample space. Like so

My OCD took over and I had to vacuum the dust behind that panel
Now you should have this. The spring assembly is held on via the points marked With the Pliers or similar lift the bottom portion of the spring Pull the first pin out. As you're pulling out the last pin be careful of the spring flying away Now remove the old and busted preparing for the new hotness Last edited by HKMP7; 07-29-2016 at 02:02 PM.. |

Now install the new armrest and be sure to line up the little
gear/sprocket on the left side Line everything up put the pins back in with the spring positioned like this. We now need to secure the center part of the spring. This is where the painters tape comes to play Open the armrest and use the needle nose pliers to push the spring into the notch Last edited by HKMP7; 07-29-2016 at 02:10 PM.. |

Is it just me, or is the phrase "Performance Arm Rest" an oxymoron?

I did too. I installed my armrest just a few minutes ago in the dark with a flashlight. The little sprocket is immaterial to the overall operation of the armrest. I wouldn't worry about it. I saved the sprocket in case I get bored and decide to fiddle with it. I couldn't quite see what it was attached to.
